GRT-III trigger
« on: April 05, 2008, 12:59:21 PM »
Charlie, I just wanted to let you (and everyone else who reads this) know just how pleased I am with my new GRT-III trigger! I just ordered a new Gamo Hunter Elite after a lot of research on the internet. I read every review I could find, and the most common complaint about almost every Gamo was the poor trigger. So I ordered a new trigger from Charlie da Tuna on the same day I ordered my new rifle. I actually got the trigger a day before I got the rifle delivered, due to Charlie's quick response to my order! Gotta love that!
Anyway, I fired about 100 rounds through the new rifle with the stock trigger, and then installed Charlie's GRT-III trigger. WOW! What a difference! The first shot with the new trigger actually startled me! The stock trigger seemed like it was only about 4 to 5 pounds; not too bad, but the creep in the first stage was a little dristracting, and then you had the release.
After I put on the GRT-III trigger, there was no 1st stage creep, and the release was almost immediate! It's incredible how smooth the trigger is now, and with only about 1.5 to 2 pounds of pull! That first shot really surprised me because the new trigger was SO smooth and easy!
The entire swap took only about 10 minutes total because it's so easy to do and Charlie posts printable illustrated instructions on his website at charliedatuna.com.
So, if any of you have even a moment's hesitation about ordering one of Charlie's GRT-III triggers... take my word for it and don't even think twice about it. You will NOT be disappointed! A one and a half pound trigger pull and one hole groups! That right there...that's good, I don't care who you are!!!

Hey Bill, thanks for taking the time to welcome me! Yeah, I'm hooked! My next fix will be sending off my new Gamo Hunter Elite to Bob ("Charlie da Tuna") for his turbo tune job!  Can't wait to see how that turns out! The trigger was such an awesome experience! Amazing what a CNC lathe can do to a little piece of aluminum!

Dezertratz, I second your emotion about Bob's great service and his wonderful trigger. If you pay real close attention you should feel the first stage take-up just before the break. It will really enhance your accuracy once you train your finger to feel that little click just before the break. Great testimonial.Tell everyone you know.

Dezertrarz, you have hit the nail on the head!!!  I put one of his triggers in a CFX, and WOW, there aint no doubt that is one of the best upgrades money can buy.  The first shot with the GRT III trigger after installation was one that caught me by surprise too.  I felt that is was a bit too light for my taste.  Adjusted it just a tad, and WALLA, one hell of a trigger, I love it!!  Cant wait to see what the turbo tune will do, well, when the stock spring breaks anyway, then I will send er in.
And welcome to the forum!  There are alot of nice folks here that really know there stuff on these airguns.  I have learned alot from them.  My eyes hurt from so much reading that I have done, but was well worth it!!
If you cant shoot it, ride it, eat it, or love it, it aint worth havin.
