When I got into airguns, it was an accident.I had a couple when I was a kid, but nothing serious. I saw an add for the Big Cat, and bought one on impulse. Wow! Way more power than I ever knew an airgun could have.Well, then I got the bug, and bought a few more on impulse. Now thats out of my system {yeah, right} and I have a few select ones I want. I dont know enough about them yet other than what I read. Now I do know that tons of fps isnt what its all about.I just plink with mine and may get into hunting. I shot a LOT of birds when I was a kid.I do have a list going though, and a lot are .22 caliber.

Bill....This is an excellent post..........I enjoy collecting airguns as much as I enjoy shooting,I read reviews,I send PMs out asking opinions/advice......I prefer the better name airguns, although I will buy the lower name guns too,I don't care too much about the cost,I am not worried about spending money(even if it's not available)especially if it is something of great interest to me,Don't get me wrong I always look for a good deal but if there isn't one,it doesn't stop me from buying......The way I see it, is that my BSA,BEEMAN,WEBLEY airguns will hold better value than my GAMO,RWS,HAMMERLI..if I ever decide to sell the pellet size varies, depending on the gun I'm interested in...........I am very phanatical, meticulous & anal with my guns, when buying brand new guns,I must say that I look for & want perfection, when buying used, I am more lenient with my perfectionist view of the gun,I like to buy vintage airguns as a collector,.............I THINK I'M JUST AN AIRGUN JUNKIE/ADDICT,,,,,,DOES THIS MEAN I'M PRACTICAL OR NOT PRACTICAL..HEHEHE....LOL!.......I'M OFF TO CLEAN MY NEW GOLDFINGER............

When I first got into air guns I was much more likely to make an impulse purchase,,, now I tend to take more time considering my shooting needs and purchases, but all of the guns I've bought were bought for the expressed purpose of small game hunting and they all get their time in the field. The only guns I'll usually buy now just on impulse are the cheaper chinese shooters but that's simply because they are just that ,,,,, inexpensive,,,, that and the fact that I freely admit that I really do love my cheap chinese shooters. There's just something about taking one of those guns, fiddling with it and turning it into a very capable close range small game getter... :) I'm thinking of ordering a couple more B-3's just cause they're so much fun,,,, and cheap.... :)

I know how you feel Jeff,

I go to my R-9 for heavy business, or when I need the range. But I enjoy shooting my B-3, and doing well with it ! Just a real good feeling when you can do well with an inexpensive rifle !

I'm both, though more with handguns though. I only have 2 rifles, a Remington AirMaster 77 and a Crosman Storm XT. The Remington is about 4 years old now and the Crosman is only 2 weeks at most. My collection of handguns on the other hand is HUGE. None of my handguns could ever handle hunting anything more than maybe a bird at close range, but they're fun for target shooting. I took my time with buying my Crosman since it was going to be my first hunting air rifle. I know it's not the best gun I could've gotten, but for the price and my needs, it's perfect and I'm happy with it. Handguns on the other hand, if I see one I don't have, I'll buy it hehe

Amazing trigger'bug accurate'rifles, huntingpower to spare for things more sizable, too . . .
`
For practice and fun -FWB 300 or Diana 6mfull blown matchare excellant pieces.
`
Then, of course, the big bore stuff is quiteuseful for close quarters medium gamebrush hunting.
`
Practical? Maybe not so much . . .
`
Fun? Well, of course . . .

I'm Mr. Practical and I research nearly everything.  Why buy something that doesn't do what I'm looking to do?
I have found the forums to be a tremendous help!

well, i started out wanting a gun for fun, so i got a daisy 880, then a crosman 1077...then i started hitting sparrows and squirrels, and wanted to reach out further, so i got a g1 extreme...now i'm looking for something more powerful for the groundhogs around here...but i'll admit that i will be getting more of a veriety, so to speak, of guns for each use...i'm looking into a patriot, super streak, and rws 54 for powerful springers, and a whisper vh when it comes out from gamo, along with the .22 whisper, and a rws 34 panther .22...then the weaker springers, i want a nitro 17, 850 sport carbine, and delta, for mostly fun, but also for some sparrows...i'm also gonna get a fully modded 392 multi-pump, and 1325 from mountain air along with a .25 cal co2 pisol from them...then maybe i'll get a discovery from ma...then i think i'll be done...so, i guess i'm looking for more of a collection then only looking for what i need huh?lol!

i think we can all agree that it is an addicting sport.

Thanks Troy,

Another Practical AirGunner ! I'm glad that I am not the only one, I was starting to think that I was all alone, the only anal retentive member here. lol

I have been this way since I was a kid, and can't figure out why ????? But all that I can say, is that I am seldom unhappy with my purchases !

Thanks Troy,

Bill

That's normal Daniel,

Your collect air pistols, collecting is having every one you can find, within your price range, then you start looking for a trade or a deal elsewhere.

I collect coins and stamps, talk about wheeling and dealing....

Thanks,
