New shootin buddy, sorta
« on: April 21, 2008, 02:03:26 AM »
For the last 2yrs I have been trying to get my wife, Tiffani to go out back and shoot with me. She was not interested and has only shot about 5 pellets in that time. :0  After this past weekend, she has changed her mind :o, thanks guys. :)  So it looks like I'll be adding, I mean she'll be starting a collection, soon. Her B'day is in about 3wks, so I'll be gettin her a Recon, or something else small, light and easy to cock. She has decided to start shooting the QB-79 that I got for her a few months ago and has laid claim on my MA2250xt. I'll get some pics together of the shoot and post them this evening. Thanks again guy's for helping me show her how much fun it can be. :)  Even tho my back pocket is going to be ALOT lighter, cuz she really liked Gene's Cyclone. :o

Mike, if you really want her to be your new shootin' buddy, don't get her a Recon, get her an HW30 or an R7. That'll have her lovin' a sweet shooting springer.   8)

Mike,I bought my girlfriend an air rifle this past Valentines day(HAMMERLI STORM ELITE)she liked the pretty synthetic stock...oh well! I have to say that it worked for me,she shoots with me,she will walk in the woods with me while I try to hunt......I don't always end-up hunting..sometimes it's ends up a romantic walk...LOL!......She has a great time shooting with me,her birthday is also in about 3wks...can you guess what I'm getting her.........depends on what she gets me for my birthday the week before..hehehe.....there is nothing better than having your partner involved in your hobbies...or my addiction.........Stephanie mentioned two perfect gifts..........she should really enjoy shooting them.......GOOD LUCK!

Your right Steph, either of those would be alot better, just not in the budget right now. :0  I think I can get a Recon to shoot pretty good, with some TLC. :)  If it turns out half as nice as my B-3, we'll both be happy. 8)

Hey Mike,

If you get her that Cyclone,.....You'll be HER shootin buddy !!!!!

In my 33 years of wedded bliss, I have allways purchased what she wanted, and it works !!! You will never have an argument over HER selections,... However, if YOU purchase her something that doesnt work out, It WILL be ALL YOUR FAULT !!! Cause if YOU got her what she WANTED, THIS WOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED !

Just a thought from my experiences !

Thanks Bill, truer words were spoken, we've been together 13yrs, so I know about gettin the wrong gift. :o  She shot a Recon at Gene's and really liked it, after the trigger was swapped out, so I think I'll be ok. :)

Mike, you can get an HW30 (Perfekt trigger model) for $215.00. Compare that to the cost of a Recon, with a real scope, decent mounts and a GRT-III trigger installed.........not to mention the tune time it will need. Just a thought......

I've got a couple of scopes that I could put on it and part of the fun is making them shine. Although Gene, does have a HW30, with a beautiful piece of lumber on it :o  I wonder if I could talk him out of it,hehe. 8)

Sherry's favorite rifle is the Falcon FN19
« Reply #8 on: April 21, 2008, 04:21:29 PM »
The FN-19 with the MTC Connect 01 is her 'go to' gun. Lightweight with a match trigger and phenomenal optics - what's not to like ? ? ?
`
Although the Sumatra carbine with the BSA 6x24 has also printed her some half dollar piece groups at 100m before, the trigger is just nowhere near what the Falcon trigger is . . .

3n00n, is that the Falcon she is holding?  How'd you get the Hubbell mounted on that thing?!

What kind of scope is that?  I am intrigued...

She has shot 1 1/2" bench groups at 100m with it. I'm not quiteso steady with lightweight rigs, and prefer the .25 Sumatra but haven't tried any 100m groups with the .25 yet. Gotta get outta the shopduring daylight to do that . . . :p
