I got a call from Bob at 4:00 PM Monday afternoon. He says he is fine and I seem to agree with him cause he was a bit grumpy.. hehe He told me the dang hospital was dragging there feet when releasing him..:) He is feisty and full of *_*_*_*_*_* and vinegar so he must be doing well. He says thanks to all the GTA members who supported him with prayers and kind words.. Gene

What did they use on him, a tuna can opener or is he old enough to have one of those keys and a little metal tab?  All seriousness aside, hope he's feeling well and has a speedy recovery.

It may be a little slow going for awhile. It all started when I lifted something a lot heavier than I should have and lost my balance. I felt something rip inside both in my groin area as well as my chest and knew that it wasn’t good. On top of that, I waited a couple of months before doing anything about it thinking that it was gonna fix itself. Pretty stupid huh???  :0

The groin area was the bad part and I had an extended extensive hernia and I mean big and over half the bowel had gone through the tear and the swelling was huge. Well they stuffed everything back up into my lower abdomen and put a huge patch in to hopefully hold everything in place. …lol… The doc’s said if it held for the first 24 hours that it should stay. It looks like it’s going to hold, at least so far and it’s been over 48 hours. The swelling in the lower abdomen is starting to go down a little also as well as the “much lower” area but still just a “bit” of pain….lol… The surgeon said that I’ll have that for a few weeks or so.   :0

Not to sure about the chest area yet. They were more concerned about the groin area and the tear in the chest that seperates the two halves may heal itself.

For you guys… They are as big as lemons and as black and blue as plums so Sherry says.  :0  :0  I do have a suggestion guys… and gals too for that matter. Be careful of how much you lift and how you lift it, especially when you start getting up there in years. You are much the wiser if you just wait and get some help….. believe me.  :p  Gene raised hell with me, and I guess he should, have for not waiting for him. And he’s been right here for me through this. You just couldn’t ask for a better friend… but then you all know that already.

Bottom line… give me a few weeks and I’ll be as good as new and with Gene’s help, we probably won’t miss a stroke…. Well… maybe a couple. Orders will go out as normal.  8)

Thanks again to all of you… each and every one.  :0

Bob and Sherry…. and Gene too.

I'm glad to hear all is well Bob, cept for a little swelling. My out-law had one beginning of last year, almost waited to long to get it taken care of. The Docs said after the surgery, that if he would have waited much longer, that he would have lost most of his intestins. I think they ended up taking about 3ft of his small intestin, because infection had set it. Glad you didn't wait any longer.
