Hey Bob,

It's good to have you home, I don't trust doctors much either, and tend to be stupid, and treat myself. You know what they say about a doctor that treats himself, he has a fool for a patient !!!!

It's a good thing we both have good people and God looking after us, or we could do ourselves some harm.

Take it easy buddy, don't over do it now, let everything take its time to heal itself before you start chasingthe girls around the block !! or runnin for the UPS truck. :)

Take it easy Bob,

Ok Stephanie, do not read the last part of CDT's post.. hehe... Might turn you against men... LOL  Well it's great that Bob is doing better and he is one tuff guy.. :) He really had been putting off seeing the doctor and I know Sherry was bugging him to death to get things fixed. Sherry is a fantastic lady and she and Bob are a great couple. And Sherry is one great cook as well..:) I do not know how Bob stays so fit when eating her cooking..:)

I guess I will go see my old buddy tomorrow and give him a hand or two if Fritz does not get them first.. hehe

Bob, rest and letting your body heal itself is the key here......are you listening?  Good! Now put Gene and Fritz to work and you just sit in an easy chair, sip something cool and supervise!  :D

Bob glad to hear you are on the mend. Good advice about lifting when you are a tad long in the teeth. We seem to let our muscle tone get away from us. I still lift too much from time to time and will regret it. Those patches seem to work great Bob. Better than just sewing things shut..

And thanks to Gene. Nothing better than a good wife and  a good friend when you are down.

good to hear you're ok, bob.  i can kinda relate....i'm only 19, so, of course, my job opportunities are all minimum wage, type jobs...my last job was working at shoprite in a cafe(so ppl could eat while food shopping...didn't sell much food...just beer, lol)...well, every week, i had to clean the fryer, and chenge the oil...the fryer had a large metal container, and it was filling up with crud, as it does every week, so it wasn't light...i usually get help lifting it, but everyone was busy, so i picked it up, and put it on the table...that was about 1 1/2 months ago...i threw my back out, and it never got better...its still just as bad as when i did it...itreally hurts if i sneeze or cough(by the way, i'm allergic to pollen...just gotta love spring...:(...)...i think about going to the doctors, but then i remember that they'll charge me $60 just to say hi, and i'm sorry, but that is one of the most aggravating things ever...so, i haven't gone.....i know its not as bad as yours, but i just wanted to let you know that you aren't the only stubborn guy on this forum, so don't feel so bad, lol.

let us know how the recovery goes.

Bob:
Am very glad your problem was not worse and was repairable.
You, like me, may be a bit of a workaholic and will probably find it difficult to "take it easy" as per doctors instructions.
Hang in there. Will be hoping for the best here.

Bob, it's been a few days and by now I hope you got your stitches out and can stand up straight. I had one of those procedures done about 10 years ago and when I had my follow up with the Doc about a week later I still could not stand up straight. I told the Doc I thought  he stitched me up too tight. 3 days later I could stand straight again and all has been well ever since. Hope you are feeling fine. Dave.

My followup appointment is not until the 28th and I hope they come out then. They did slice me pretty good and the "gash" is about 4 1/2 inches long and I haven't counted the stiches. And it is tough standing up straight but.... things are improving a little bit every day.
