Crossman G1 Extreme
« on: May 12, 2008, 05:42:05 AM »
I recently bought this gun because it is inexpensive, powerful, accurate, and has gotten good reviews.  I bought the gun for $99 at Dicks Sporting Goods in Newark, DE.  After a few times out shooting the gun the spring wouldn't stay cocked,  I would break the barrel and cock the gun and the barrel would fly back up, so I took it back and got a new one no questions asked.
With the new gun I put loctite on all the bolts holding the scope, and tightened them down good.  I let it dry for a day,  I cleaned the whole gun.  It had this brown oil all over the metal.  Then I went out and shot the gun a few times untill the dieseling was finished.  Cleaned all the gunk out of the barrel then shot 30-50 rounds.  Then the next day I sighted the scope in.
About the gun, I like the synthetic stock and the overall style of the gun.  The Scope is really nice too I am still tinkering with the fact that you can adjust the distance you are shooting at.  The adjustment is on the front of the scope,  It's a 3-9X32 Center point Scope.
I am using Crossman hunting pellets and I am still deciding whether or not It's better to lube the pellets with pledge or not.
This gun is pretty accurate but my problem is I cannot hold the gun and hit squat I have to have it rested on something or have something to rest my arm on. Overall this is a good gun.  Excellent value

I agree with you..... I picked one up last year in WallyWorld and I love it.. Shoots hard, straight, accurate and I love the feel of the synthetic stock. Best synthetic stock I've run across. The scope is decent and it even comes with a good solid one piece mount. You got yourself a good shooter there. Enjoy :)

What is the Power plant tune?  I was debating on getting a GRT trigger.
