232 YEARS OF FREEDOM FROM GREAT BRITAIN
« on: July 01, 2008, 04:06:52 AM »

Hello All,

It has now been 232 Years since the People of the United States declared their Independence from Great Britain. 232 Years of FREEDOM, and SELF RULE, that our Founding Fathers Gave US ! And 232 Years of FREEDOM, that our Veterans of All Wars fought, bleed, and died to give US !

So while your enjoying Your Freedom this weekend, at a picnic, ball game or fireworks display, spend a moment and thank those Veterans that kept, and keep,OUR FREEDOM SAFE, so the WE can enjoy this Fourth of July as Free Americans !

Have a Safe, Enjoyable Holiday !

This independence thing is a serious business. I always spare a thought for Gettysburg over the 4th... huge, momentous, tragic thing that it was.

Every battlefield death is a tragedy for someone, but almost 50,000 Americans dead in 3 days is worth a pause.

I agree we need to not only enjoy our freedom, but honor it.

Always wanted to do that! Someday I will.
Having been heavily into "Re-enactments" of the War of 1812, F&I, I know what the participants do to be as "period correct" as can be. It's not cheap, or easy, and most things can not be bought. For a good idea of some fine crastsmanship of the participants, take a close look at the outfits, Kits, etc. Much is homemade and very time consuming to do with unbelievable amounts of research. These people are dedicated and have a true passion of their hobby.
