1 house wrecker exterminated!!
« on: July 03, 2008, 12:34:08 PM »
I got a call the other day from my aunt.. She told me she heard this racket over her at night and said something got into her attic. I went over there the other day to scope it out. A family of squirrels had chewed a hole in her fascia board on the corner of her house and were living in her attic. I looked around and they had chewed some of her old clothes and made a mess of the place. I told her I could exterminate them with a pellet gun, but she was reluctant to say yes. So I went and setup a have a heart trap and left.  I called the next day and she said they were still in there at night and driving her crazy.  So I grabbed a gun and made my way over there. When I got there I showed her the pellet gun and said this should do the trick. I then setup and waited bye the hole they chewed right near the gutter on the corner of her house and asked her to go in the attic and see if she could flush them out . before you knew it one came out the hole and jumped right in the gutter. I think he may have seen me, but he popped his head out one time and thwack... I shot him with my FWB 124 D  (1 shot 1 kill). He immediately fell to the ground and did a little death roll in the dirt. He was one of a family of squirrel that are living in my aunt's attic.  Needless to say I will be back for the rest of them, now that she gave me permission to shoot....lol

You gotta take care of family, first and foremost. Your aunt will appreciate what you are doing. Heck, bring another one of your rifles with you and maybe she can make some lemonade and both of you can sit and wait on the furry nut munchers to poke their heads out. Get the gal into the sport, too!

Nice shot. Thanks for sharing.

#2 terrorist squirrel taken out this AM
« Reply #7 on: July 04, 2008, 02:14:06 AM »
It was drizzling out this morning so I grabbed my gun and headed back over to my aunts house. I figured the squirrels would be sleeping in her attic and I would setup and catch them coming out. I got there at 7:15 AM and setup a little lawn chair and table. I brought out the FWB 124 D again, because I don't have the gun scoped and it will be quicker to get on target with the iron sights. I went to the door and told my aunt to slowly go into the attic and do a push for me :)  Before I could react three squirrels came out the hole in the side of the house. I picked the biggest one out and put my sights on his/her head. I slowly squeezed the trigger and thwack the pellet found its mark. It barely moved, did a couple leg kicks and was done. The other two ran off and I couldn't get a shot. I went over and looked, this was the female and the one I got yesterday was the male...  I will do my best to get the rest of them out and replace the board on the corner of her house. here is a pic, hope you enjoy.

Thanks guys!!! The FWB is very accurate and a pleasure to shoot even with open sights.  Although I plan on mounting a scope on her in the near future. She Isn't in bad shape for being nearly 30 years old.

That's some good shootin'.  Big males are fighters & I've had to put two rounds in quite a few....course I didn't aim quite as precise as you did.

Hope you got the rest of the infestation cleared out.
