.25 QB-78 shoots nice..........
« on: September 29, 2006, 12:46:35 PM »
I finally got my .25 barrel machined and installed, only have some Crow Magnums to shoot but boy do they slap the swinging targets. have it limited to about 20fpe, any more and you only get about 15 shots on a fill. The Lothar-Walther barrel is real accurate, much better than me at 30 yards. Now to find some good glass to put on it. The larger caliber sure makes a statement when it hits something, can't wait for that first rabbit to sneek into the yard, it's gonna knock clean over. If you can get a bigger bore barrel and give this a try.

Ya the QB in a .25 does hit hard. I had mine for a short while when it started leaking everywhere...:( ... I had bought it before I started this forum. He fixed it and sent it back along with the leaky .22 I bought from him. He took care of the problems but I still have not shot the QB .25 cal yet. They are both bulk fill. I really like the one I bought from Compasseco. Don't have to hassle with the bottles. It does not shoot as hard as the moded .22 from Roy but it is sure fun to shoot.

Would anyone be interested in a .25 conversion kit for a .22 QB-78? If there is any interest I may buy a few barrels and set something up. Mike

Still looking for lowest price on quality barrels, lets hope that there is enough interst to get a bulk buy price.

LOL Ed order your barrel here. Then put that lathe of yours to some good work I know Archer sells the .177 to .22 conversion kits for like 35 bucks ... dont think that idea hasnt crossed my mind several times today. Also thought about buying a breech and a bolt kit and seeing what I can come up with for makin a repeater... I know this is all old rehashed stuff but to my knowledge people just kind of gave up on the idea of a magazined QB or it is just too impractical to make one for production so they just make em for themselves and move on down the airgun food chain lol.

I've done a few now but they are spendy, if I remember right the last barrel ready to drop in a .22 Qb-78 was in the $175 range add the price of a tuned rifle to that and it gets kinda pricey.........let me know if you want to spend the money on just a barrel or want the whole shooting match, it's about $300..........Mike

Yes, how much do the .25 barrels cost?
