Which hand pump should I get?
« on: June 24, 2008, 09:43:15 AM »
I want to get a hand pump to use with my B50 and soon to be my Sam Yang Big Bore 909 Light hunter. Which one is the best suited to my needs?

I ordered the Axsor pump with Sam Yang 909 probe adapter. It should be here Wednesday. Can't wait.  I also have some .45 molds and a .45 swaging die coming in, along with a core mold for the swaging die. I'm going to try my hand at making my own. I already have a .45 Truncated Cone mold and a .454 Round Ball mold. Now I have a .45 Devastator HP mold, a .45 Lee REAL mold, a .45 BP conical mold and a .45 Minie Ball mold coming in. I'm not going overboard am I ;)

When you ask a question like that in a crowd like this that's the saying that comes to mined. Of coarse not your just well per paired . My 201's should be here tomorrow and the pump the next day . The man that makes the bullets close to my home sent me about 10 different types and weights to try so I will know what works best in my rifle before I place a order. Marvin

I called Pyramyd Air yesterday and found out that my pump is on backorder. Seems I see a pattern here.

Hi,  I recently bought a Hill pump with optional Dry Pack (a moisture filter) and I am using it to charge my Career 707 Carbine.  The pump is made in Sheffield, England, but the company delivers worldwide and you can probably get it in some of the big mail order specialists in USA.  It's a lot more expensive than any of the other pumps on the market, but it's a quality piece of kit.  Spare seals and filters are readily available and service from the company is excellent.  There's a video on Pyramid Air's web site to do with the Benjamin Discovery which shows a middle aged guy demonstrating the correct technique for using a pump.  Compared to me he's just a kid, and I find putting 300 psi of air into the Career pretty easy, and I'm no fitness fanatic :-). So don't be put off getting a pump - even if you just use it for topping up after you've filled from a bottle.  Adios amigo. mick1

Does the Axsor pump have a dry pack, or not?
