I put a "blue ice" packet in my CFX stock.

I have seen posts from time to time about filling synthetic stockw with foam and/or other stuff to add weight and cut noise and vibration..  I used a different tack.  I took off the but plate and put in a sealed packet (about 5" x 6") of blue ice.  This cost about $1 at Walmart.  This gel like material adds weight to the back of the stock, and takes out a little of the noise and vibration.  To get it in the stock, I simply tapped on the front of the barrell with a rubber mallet and it sucked the gel pack right on down.  If you decide to do this, and still have the plastic GAMO break on the end of the barrell, tap on the end of the stock instead.  The rifle balances a littel better and I believe the vibration soaked up by the gel will help my scope last longer.

Good tip Ron. I'll have try that with my CFX and my Ham. 850. If I don't like the way they work I can always use the blue ice in one of my coolers.
