I"ve never shot a whisper so I can't comment on that rifle,,, but I do own a .22 CFX and I really like it.  Accurate, powerful and has taken small game consistently for me.  The larger .22 cal pellets are much easier for me to load into the rotating breach than on my .177 CFX,, which is also a fine shooter BTW......

Good luck with whatever you choose....

You cannot go by Jeff telling how he takes game down with any cal or any rifle for that matter,Jeff is true to his name LONGISLANDHUNTER & has taken game down with spitballs, pea shooters, even throwing rocks works for this hunter,,,,,
JEFF IS A NATURAL.............JUST LIKE ED SHADOW!          LOL!

BTW.....The .22 CFX is proven,The WHISPER.22 is a new edition.........probably will be fine!

Jeff & Ed are so good at hunting, they don't even have to shoot anymore, when they are on their hunting walks, I heard that the game doesn't wait to get whacked by them,THEY KILL THEMSELVES..hehehe!

I'd go with the Whisper...
« Reply #6 on: July 23, 2008, 01:35:29 PM »
They have basically the same powerplant, the quality of the barrel bore should be comparable, and it has fewer opportunities for breech seal leakage and power loss. Also, easier and faster to load and easier to clean the barrel. Granted, the CFX is probably a wee bit more accurate, but frankly either gun is far better than I am...

All in all, though, I'd much rather have a Shadow or 440 in .22, never warmed up to plastic coated barrels on grown-up guns.

I have both guns in .177. For just good old fun shooting I'd go with the Whisper. Lighter, easier to load, it's just a cooler gun. My opinion only. Either one you choose, Turbo Tune & GRT. You won't believe the difference. You can't go wrong whichever way you go.  Good luck and enjoy!!

I think i will go with the whisper, i've been looking at that more than the cfx ,gotta wait on pa to call me on my exchange. This is pretty neat doing this on my blackjack 2 phone.

Like Jeff I already have the CFX in .22 and she's a fine hunter. Would like to add a Whisper .22 to my little collection one of these day's and teach her to hunt. :) Ed

Fixed barrel CFX has no barrel pivot to wear and get sloppy and if a Guy were real serious, look for CFX Royal with a wood stock. If you want something in a plastic stock, you would be more likely get your moneys worth at Toys "R" Us.
