What is it?????
« on: August 04, 2008, 09:14:38 AM »
Recently purchased a Hunter Elite. Is it a 220, 440, 880, 890 Magnum 2000, magnum 3000 or a 1250??? Trying to grease the spring and figure out how to get the end cap off to get it into the compressor. Is the cap held on by the screw that holds the trigger casement? Got a GRT today and wanted to grease the spring while I have it down. Thanks. Lee

It's a lot of the above but mostly a 440 or a 890. If you have the gun out of the stock look behind the trigger and you will see a square topped bolt that the rear trigger guard bolt goes into. Get a wrench and back the bolt out all the way. The end cap will the come off and give you access to the rear spring guide. Just a little pressure and pop the pin out and your good to go. Hope this helps.

Use the wrong stuff (most greases) and you're asking for trouble. It can work its way past the seal and detonate (as I learned from experience)

I will be using Maccari's velocity tar. Sorry, sometimes get caught up with slang!!! I purchased Maccari's lube package. Thanks for the caution flag. Have a great day everyone. Lee
