I'm not one to discuss politics but...
« on: August 07, 2008, 12:51:10 PM »
here is something that Sherry found and I thought interesting.

This is from another source and not by me.

WHERE IS THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE FOR OBAMA?

I don't know exactly how much of this may be true (or outright false), but seems to me it must be settled before November 2008.

I tried "Truth or Fiction' and 'Snopes' for this & could not find anything to verify this message.  I then went on the Internet and found:
'BLOG' of Michelle Malkin at:

http://michellemalkin.com/2008/06/10/the-buzz-about-baracks-birth-certificate/

'BLOG'  of the Los Angles Times at"

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/06/obama-birth.html

                                        *********************************************
REGARDLESS OF YOUR POLITICAL PREFERENCES, THIS WILL REQUIRE AN ACCURATE ANSWER!

QUESTION:     WHERE IS THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE FOR OBAMA?

According to Pat Shannan, (assistant editor, American Free Press, July 7, 2008) it now appears that Barack Obama is constitutionally ineligible for the office of president.

John McCain's eligibility was established in 1964, when courts ruled Sen. Barry Goldwater was eligible although he was born in Arizona when it was a territory, not a state.
McCain was born in the Panama Canal Z one when it was a U.S. territory. And, even as the controlled media continues to ignore the ineligibility of Obama, it will not go away.

The first hurdle will be having Obama produce his birth certificate, which so far he has refused to do, and prove that he was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961, as he has always claimed. There is speculation that his American mother may have brought him to Honolulu shortly after his birth in Kenya, but no proof of that has been shown.
According to the law on the books at the time of Obama's birth, the office of president requires that a candidate be a natural born citizen if the child was not born to two U.S. citizen parents. Since he was not, should it be proven that Obama was not born in Hawaii, as claimed, he is ineligible without further debate. But assuming that he was born there, he has another problem.

According to a legal researcher who has contacted AFP, U.S. law very clearly states: 'If only one parent is a U.S. citizen at the time of one's birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for a minimum of 10 years, five of which must be after the age of 16.'   And therein lies Obama's new problem.

Barack Obama's father was never a U.S. citizen. Interestingly, there isn't much paperwork on the marriage of Obama's parents, and this has a few researchers speculating that it never took place at all.

On page 27 of Obama: From Promise to Power, David Mendell writes: 'Obama later confessed that he never searched for the government documents on the marriage, although Madelyn (Obama's maternal grandmother) insisted they were legally married.'   He also notes that Obama's father apparently was not legally divorced from his first wife back in Kenya at the time, a point of contention that ultimately led to their separation.

This also would suggest that there may never have been any legal marriage by Obama's parents at all, but the Constitution does not ban an illegitimate child from the White House, as long as he was born inside the U.S.

Obama's mother was born in Kansas and was only 18 when Obama was born. This means even though she satisfies the citizen requirement for 10 years,  she was not a citizen for at least five years prior to Barack Obama's birth.

In essence, the mother alone is not old enough to qualify her son for automatic U.S. citizenship.

At most, two years elapsed from his mother turning 16 to the time of Barack Obama's birth when she was 18. His mother would have needed to have been 16 + 5 = 21 years old at the time of Barack Obama's birth for him to be a natural-born citizen.   Barack Obama was already three years old at the time his mother turned 21.
Technically,  Obama should have been naturalized as a citizen,  but that, of course, would disqualify him from holding the office of president.

If these allegations are accurate, America could install in January of 2009 a new president who is not even a U.S. citizen, neither born nor naturalized.
It should be demanded that Obama produce his 1961 Hawaiian birth certificate. If he cannot satisfactorily do so, he should be deemed immediately ineligible to hold the office of president.

Come to think of it, Obama might just be an illegal alien.... ain't that a hoot... :)

I don't know the source of this tripe but the glaring error in the non-citizen hypothesis is that Obama's mother became a citizen at birth, not at the age of emancipation and did reside in the U.S. for 5 years after the age of sixteen.

A friend of mine whose son is an agent, tells me Obama was vetted by the FBI when he became a U.S. Senator.

Also, if there was any truth in this what-so-ever, Senator McCain's troops would have been all over it.

I remember when Senator Barry Goldwater was running for President his opponents would superimpose his picture on a nuclear mushroom cloud. Scare tactics and "dirty tricks"are designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator. I don't believe anyone on this forum falls into that category.

Another example of silly in the world of politics is the question over Senator McCain's citizenship because he was born in 1936 in the Panama Canal Zone.

The Panama Canal Zone was neither a state nor a U.S. Territory but simply an "Area of United States Jurisdiction" which disqualifies Senator McCain as a "natural-born" citizen. Congress did not pass the "qualifiying" law until 1937, thus according to a law professor at the University of Arizona, Senator John McCain is not a "natural-born" citizen and disqualified to be President.

For the whole NY Times story, type in this URL: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/11/us/politics/11mccain.html

Wasn't it Abe Lincoln who said something like: you can fool some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time?

I think that some of this tripe floats around as an attempt to fool some of the people.

My son was born on Okinawa. He has naturalization papers and is a citizen in good standing. Same as McCain. US military is different in this respect. We don't get to pick and choose where we are when mother gives birth.

I for one would like to see the issue of baracks citizenship cleared up. Perhaps the Clintons will take care of that at the convention. Never count them out until the game is over..

oops
I meant  . . .
aaaaaaaaaaaair gunzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, aaaaaaaaaaaaaair gunzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaair gunzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz . . .
Now I feel MUCH better. The "smaller government, lower taxes, free market economy, hell yes, drill for more oil, physical Conservative" side of me just slipped out for a moment there.

By the way, if you use that mantra, breathing in deeply on airrrrrrr, out slowly on gunzzzzzzzzzz,  slow down your breathing rate and depth of inspiration on each of 3 cycles and on the last "gunzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"  time the trigger pull with your breathing stopped, about halfway through an exhale, concentrating only on the front sight, I find my groups improve dramatically. This may even work for Liberals, but I have no way to test the theory.

And that's probably better policy advice than you will likely get from either of the current presidential candidates.

Personally I don’t give a big fat rat’s a$$ where B.O. was born, conceived or hatched. I have and will continue to judge the man on his ability to lead, govern and protect the citizens of the country I deeply love and respect. I will also consider his experience, his associations and his past voting record. That’s just a “snippet” of things for me to think about. So far he hasn’t convinced me to support him. BTW, I regard 200,000 screaming Germans, loaded up with beer and sausage, a joke; otherwise, that image would scare the living s**t out of me. So there, now I feel much better. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaair gunzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaair gunzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaair gunzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

People have jumped all over me for being 'racist'although the fact remains that anyone that knows me, knows better ~however thatdoes not change the ethical disagreement between myself and the 'democratic' concept of higher taxesandmore government control.

I'm on the high side of 50 some years old. I'm tired and at this time have to go to 67 until I retire. I joined the Marine Corps in '69 as a kid and been working my ass off since trying to make a meager living. Maybe it's time "I" got on the dole and let the gov'mint send me a big ass check every month with all the 'welfare generation' folks. Don't know if I qualify though. My parents were married. They tought me the value of hard work, and giving instead of just taking. I haven't smoked dope in about 20 years, but I suppose I could start again. Hell, the gov'mint could buy me a LOT of pellets every month!
Osama Obama could make that happen for me!!!!!  Hmmmmmm!!!!!!!

As I am not a supporter of Big Brother Government !

And have NO wishes for higher taxes, I DO NOT SUPPOT Osama Obama !

I have only heard whispers of of Obama's ineligibility, due to not being a "Native Borne" Citizen, and after some reading on this topic, I hope that it is looked into ! It seems that there is far more to it than I believed at first.

My feeling concerning Obama is, I don't want a Senator or President that votes "HERE" over 100 times when Bill's areup for Vote ! Yes or No !, who cares if your physically present, why show up at all !

I can see it now, Mr. President, the Capital Building has just been bombed ! UH,,,UH,,, HERE !!!???? Or better yet, ...Did they put air in there tires ???

While John McCain is not my personal cup of tea, He has proven his Metal, both in Vietnam, and in the United States Senate. He is showing "Flexibility" as the conditions are changing here in the States. At one time he was so stiff, he wouldn't change his opinion for almost any reason.

Now I know that they are both "POLITITIONS", and if you see there mouths moving, you can bet there lying, at least about something :)

And I can predict that if Osama Obama is elected, AirGun Money will be Taxed at the highest rate possible ! And lead pellets will be banned !, banned !, BANNED !.

This is just the way I see it !, I could be wrong :)
