For Sale .20 Caliber Barrels for Gamo's
« on: September 06, 2006, 01:37:52 PM »
Have three .20 cal. barrels for sale and one .22 cal barrel out of a Supreme.

.20 barrels 75 bucks /  with Muzzle brake
.22 barrel 55 bucks /  with Muzzle Brake

The .20 barrels are machined to fit the Gamo 1000/220/440/890 rifles.
They have a cold blue finish that is so so, nobody around here blues barrels so they are cold blued.

Don't forget I also have Muzzle Brakes, and guide kits for Gamo's

I might be interested in a .20, but...

could you explain to me what is involved in replacing the barrel?

Remember, I haven't worked on guns before =D

I saw your post here: http://www.gatewaytoairguns.com/airguns/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=744&mid=3696#M3696

But that's like taking the question "How do you sequence the human genome?"

I could give you an answer but you still might have no clue how to do it.

That post pretty much explains it. I do send a split sleeve to slide over the stock barrel so when you clamp the barrel in a vise it holds better and you don't mess up the original barrel,  making it easier to remove the stock barrel, you send the sleeve  back for the next guy.

The hardest part is getting the pivot bolt out, I used a impact screw driver to get it loose.
After that it's no problem getting the pivot bolt sleeve out and the detent assembly comes out with the pivot bolt sleeve.

Clamp the barrel in a vise, heat the pivot block with a propane  torch ( this is just to release the factory locktite) and unscrew the barrel.  The breach O ring just stays in the pivot block and resets it's self when you install the .20 barrel.

For those out there considering a barrel change, what PeterDraggin is offering is a good one. I put one on one of Gene's guns and it wound up an excellent shooter.
