Hey,, J,
Where do you think the verb "Borked" came from?  That's Bork as in Robert and "Slouching Towards Gomorra"

Considering the facts that the states with the highest unwed pregnancies, teen pregnancies, and DUI occurrences all  happen to be up north, I fail to see where you have room to point fingers.

Not long ago I caught myself thinking, "Where's Nikola Tesla when you need him?". Tucker got shafted, also. Under Communist/Socialist rule, excellence will not be tolerated. Everyone must operate at the same level of mediocrity. Affirmative action is a good example of this.
BTW, we whites from the Delta aren't the ones impregnating black girls. They're getting impregnated by black men, because they f*ck at the drop of a hat. The fact that their lives are dominated by their genitals has a lot more to do with why they've accomplished so little in the world, than anything "evil whitey" has ever done to them.

Jeremy:

As I see it, your assessment is a good one!

My initial hijacking of an innocent thread and twisting into the outragious extreme is an example of what government bureaucracy, regardless of party, seems to do with or to an idea that on the surface appears as and starts out as benign or of well meaning intent. The principle of moderation in all things, gets lost on govt. bureaucracy.

Socialist indeavers or "organized group charity" in the form of the Salvation Army or Habitat For Humanity for example, at local level under local control are the most efficient at providing far greater benefit for those in need. But, we on a local level are the only ones that can that can make that possible by contributing either time, money or both to help those most deserving and keep the feds out of it. However, even at a local level, there can be terrible waste. As an example, a church I used to be affiliated with, elected to spend 350K on expansion and "enhancements". The expansion was primarily for larger social gatherings while the enhancements were primarily in the form of decorative gold leaf and if budget permitted, offer pampers to indigent unwed mothers. Now, I don't claim to be a good Christain - not even close - probably wouldn't even see the Cross without my binoculars, but pseudos/phoneys turn my stomach.

The way I see towards any long term improvement in government at all levels and solving most problems, be they health care, environmental, energy, standard of living, or a decreased grey matter population, is through education. Education in a local system where there is more emphasis on the "3 Rs"and teaching saleable skills and all involved are held accountable. Participation in the education system decision making might get us there - apathy won't.

Received several PM's from those who know me and figured out where I was headed in the original post. They chose to stay on the sidelines to avoid the ire and attempts at intimidation that controversial issues have been shown to draw lately.

BTW, getting good people, qualified people, real and genuine leaders to run for todays public office is an issue we might tackle in the future. If I have anything to do with it, you had best hang on, cause it might be a wild ride also.

Thanks for participating.

Mike

Food, clothes, shelter, then education? Or dope?
« Reply #20 on: August 18, 2008, 08:04:22 AM »
You'd figure education would be a commodity that would be more highly sought after. Problem is that clinically obese ghetto dwellers shoot each other over a $2 crack rock. That alsohas nothing to do with melanin content of skin, but a deplorable lack of understanding the importance of comprehending cognitive tools like mathematics and communication.
`
So where is oursociety weighing in on this travesty? Iseeno 'politicians' giving of their time to teach the ghetto oppressed a better way, but'entitlement' checks are sent each month to assure the cycle of oppressionproliferates unabated!

J:
I'm still laughing! Pointed and creatively put!
I offer education as a possible long term solution, realizing full well that it may take at least a generation or two to bring about any meaningful change. As it has taken a couple generations for the mess to get this far, I am not very optimistic.
Maybe Thomas Jefferson was really on to something when he suggested or thought it may be necessary to have a revolution every 15 years as a process of republic renewal. Do you suppose that is why those in power are trying to disarm us?
In the mean time, do you have any humane ideas on a shorter term solution and how we look after widows and orphans (rather than "the" widows and orphans)?

Short term? The societal paradigm must change.
« Reply #22 on: August 18, 2008, 11:40:36 AM »
Why trust media? Their biggest contribution is from advertising, so they feed societies discontentment in order to fuel purchase ofnew fads or fashions to receive more funding from thehighestbidders. What do the discontented in the ghetto desire? Not more education!
`
The answer to the problem however,is always going to be education, but it isgoing to be through teachingresponsibility concepts that must alsobe instilled. At some agepoint, it seems less likely that the 'angryghetto' training is going to be reversible, because they've already been told that they're entitled and they'expect' it now.
`
People that aren't 'controlled' are also typically more generous than what is found when funds are 'donated' against their own conscious.
As for widows and orphans, theyaren't given a fair shake by the 'agencies in charge', while the 'entitled'that know how to file thecorrect forms doget what they expect - an internment camp {ghetto} restrictedcheck to purchaseanotherdose with.

When and where sheeple control started was long ago.

Implementation of 'government official interpreter priests'so thatthe word of Godcould be used assheeple control, and refinement of control techniques have continued through every generation. The dumbing down of Americans has been ingrained into the society from the advent of the CRT, one of the most prolific brain wave altering devices ever created.
`
Since the 1950's the brainwave patterns have been slowed to a crawl in front of the flickering 'think it for you' entertaintment box. No real need for subliminal messages, because the belief in the glowing box reports is higher than if you were really there.
`
I saw it on the box, so it has to be true! Riiiighhht . . .
I won't useCRT for exactly that reason.

I very rarely watch the idiot box. I like some movies. I like some things on DIY and Outdoor Channel. That's about it. I don't get the History (Goverment's Story) channel with my current plan. Figured I'd get the cheapie cheapskate plan, since I watch so little. I'm a bit of a skeptic, I suppose. I don't believe anything I see on the boob tube, unless I can verify it. I don't believe ANY advertisements. I realize that everyone out there in TV and radio land just wants to separate me from my hard earned/overtaxed money, and they can all screw off.
I do my job. I keep my customers and bosses happy by communicating openly and honestly with them, and treating them the way I want to be treated. I mind my own business. I jealously guard my privacy. I love my family and my few friends. I'm not the most trusting person, because I've seen first hand how most "friends" will slit your throat as soon as it benefits them. My close friends are also my oldest friends. My wife and my parents are my closest and best friends. I try to treat everyone I encounter with respect and decency. I wave politely to cops when I see them, only to receive the "F*ck you punk, what are you looking at?" attitude from them.
I think if everyone would treat each other like they want to be treated, this world would be a much better place.
I strive to provide my costomers with the friendly, honest, caring, empathetic level of customer service that is so sadly lacking in this world.
Why is it so d@mned hard for so many people to not be @ssholes?
Stepping off of my soap box now. Have a nice night everyone. Be good to each other. Life is too short.

"Dream" is RIGHT!  I think she's great!  In a real quiet sort of way I've been hitting this post to admire her from time to time throughout each day since her first post.  Glad someone else chimed-in to ask who she is!
