FYI,
« on: August 22, 2008, 04:41:00 PM »
The CRKT [Columbia River Knife and Tool Co] has a warning on their site about counterfiet products being imported. You  almost cant tell the difference, package included. I own a few of their products, and really like them. Maglite went through this a while back, and won big time in court.

I like multi tools. I have the Zilla tool, and the Guppie.I dont carry them cause I ALWAYS have my Leatherman Supertool, but I've used them and like them.I have a folder called the Badger, and a fixed blade called the Siff Kiss.[dont know who named it but I like it]They come razor sharp. Most of my knives are Gerber or Kershaw.

I see. I havent used CRKT multitools, i have a couple Gerber Multis tho and they are built like tanks, i had to do some pretty retarded stuff to break some of the attachments but the pliers still work fantastic.  I carry a Kershaw Spring assist, its been in the ocean, river, sandbox, everywhere, ive never cleaned it and it still flips out like a charm. The steel is a bit soft but durable. I abuse my knives and multis i have gone through quite a few, lol.

I dont abuse mine because I cant afford to buy things twice. I dont pry with a screwdriver, etc. I'm pretty happy with the knives I have.

Yeah i feel you on that one. My multis were Issued, along with my Benchmades(BM autos are pieces of Shyte IMHO) and as a Marine my stuff gets destroyed whether I like it or not. My fav mid-price folder was the Applegate/Fairbarn by Gerber with the 3.5" blade, great steel and sturdy as hell. I still had to sharpen it every week though, it got a LOT of use.  When Im not in Iraq I am in the field,  tough gear is hard to come by!
