Whispers first kill
« on: August 23, 2008, 09:46:02 PM »
What an exciting night.  I went to sleep at 7:00 and woke up at 2:30 to see if i could pop Mr. furry varmit..
There were a few small ones poppin in and out uf thier hiding places , but I wanted a good one with the rifle this time. I bit my lip and waited.  Thats when I saw him. He was at the far bait pile. perfect!!!!
I stuck the Whisper barrel out the 4" slot in the jealosy window and awaited his return..
It didn't take long and he came in strait on.  I put the crosshairs on him and just touched the GRT111 and flipped his rodent ass over backwards.. He did the death wiggle for a few seconds but i knew he wasn't going anywhere and didn't reload.  Dam its 4:30 am.  what am i doing up..HE HE..

I thought grackles were hard to hit.....but I'm sure mice is even worst....they're a sneaky bunch and you've to stay up late for them. Congrats on your kill with da Whisper.

Nice rat kill.  Congrats on your Whisper drawing first blood :-)

What are you doing up at 4:30am?  It's called obsession (with getting critters).  It's happened to all of us.  I spent all day yesterday trying to get a g-hog and wasted my whole Saturday.  *_*_*_*_*_*ed the wife off..  Now that's obsession and stupidity mixed together :)

I don't think its so much of an obsession, as it is just fun..  Stand hunting is big buisness down here..
There are men that pay thousands a year to sit in a box and hopefully see and shoot a deer or hog..
Granted they get to eat it, but at $100.00 a pound after all is said and done.   I think its more of a sport. I have to admit I am guilty of doing the same thing many times..

I get to do it every night here,  if i please.. granted i am not getting to eat it. but its about 5.00 a pound after beer cigs and a pellet... : )

Now if ya don't know if something is going to come out or not, that could suck. sitting there hours on in and watchin for nothing. But I know that 9 times out of 10,  I ain't waisting my time..
I wish i had g-hogs and squirrels to hunt, mabey a possum or 2.  I'm left with the nasty bastages that rule the night..And I feel its my civic duty to erradicate them...  Plugged him with a superdome
