Java & a nutter

I thought that I would spend the morning relaxing on the deck with a cup of java and watching my prettybird's or so I thought. Sitting and sipping I noticed something moving through the tree's, the word was out that I had just filled the feeder's and they were heading in.:(  With no time to waste I slipped in and grabbed the deadly little 1377 and chambered a Predator and back out just in time to see him leap to my feeder tree. Slowly I sat back into the deck chair and waited for a shot to present itself but he planted himself on limb at the top and started to bark at me, that's a no no. Still I waited but he wouldn't give me a side profile shot but enough is enough and raised the pistola and locked in on his mug. He then looked up to locate a higher vantage point and I knew this was my best chance to do some fatal damage so I sent one at em. Already knowing that the tree is 15yards from my deck, wasn't the first time hehe I was secure that the Predator would find it's mark and it did with authority. Striking him just under the chin he fell from the limb and bounced off a feeder on the way down with several quiver's as he bled out at the base of the tree. I praised my baby for a job well done, grabbed a pic for our hunter's and he is now resting peacfully in the icebox. My java didn't even get cold lol and the wife is joining me on the deck to finish our java and injoy our feathered friend's. Ed

Nice way to start the day Ed. Nothin better than having your mornin cup of joe and gettin lunch, at the same time. Nice shot with the 1377 and I like the makeover.

Hey Ed:

I've heard that morning coffee story from you before.  That 1377 pistola in your hands is deadly, as usual.  Cold lead and hot coffee -- a bad combination for the nutters in Flint.  Glad to hear you are doing well.

Nice morning at the "office". That is a heckuva shot from the 1377. I am getting mine set up for rats (real ones) in the yard down south.

At least you have squirrels you can eat! This is the time of year when I really miss Michigan.

Pistols are hard to shoot but it looks like you & your 1377 sure got the hang of it :)

Those custom grips make the 1377 look like a fine weapon. Nice shooting!

Thank's William, the grip's are custom made by one of our fine member's, Mike aka (SPLASH). He does some fine work with wood and the 1377 is a real good pistola for the price, mine is boxstock except for a trigger tune and grip's. Ed

Thank's Harry and I've spent hour's just relaxing and shooting target's with her just to find out hold and where those stock sight's need to be to squeeze out as much accuracy as I can. Ed

That poor little tree-rat came down with a rapidly progressing case of lead poisoning.

I'll never forget the first tree-rat I put in the freezer(thanks to a Crosman 2100). Neither will my mom. ; ^ )  I got up early on a Sunday morning and headed to the woods next door. Sat and waited until the nutter showed up for our rendezvous. Then I introduced her to a Copperhead wadcutter(all I could get locally at the time) moving at about 725 fps. Perfect heart shot, thanks  to a good Redfield 4X32 scope. She got hung up on a 2" diameter vine. I had to cut the vine, pull it loose from the trunk and swing it around until it/she fell down. Sure was glad it wasn't poison ivy.
Took it home to my backyard, gutted it, bagged it, and put it in the freezer. My plan was to go back to bed before my parents woke up, and skin it later. That's what I did. What I didn't count on was my mom waking up and finding it in the freezer. She was hot. Her yelling was what woke me up. My dad told me"You know you're going to eat that."  To which I simply replied, "Yes sir, that's why I killed it." He just smiled. I cooked that one in a pot with a couple of cans of Van Camp's pork and beans. It was a tasty Sunday lunch, indeed.
Fast forward about 25 yrs later, and my son wants to eat squirrel every day.

Anyhoo, I also have a 1377. I put the buttstock on it and like it so much that way that I may buy another to use as a pistol. Someday.
