Dave, I couldn't agree with you more. We only get to vote for one of the 2 candidates selected for us. We must vote for the lesser of 2 evils. At least she and McCain show up for work. Obamayomama can't even be bothered to do that.

I don't see anything about Mc Cain as governor of Arizona? He did a great job there. I do not have any statistics but he brought put Arizona on the map and through his policy made a load of jobs available.

Last I remember jobs made our economy strong or gives the government more money to spend..:)

I did not know that. Maybe that is a resume item which needs to be brought up in the debates etc. I would like to see projections on what the economic plan would accomplish in terms of jobs etc. Remember Ross Perot and his graphs which the elder Bush did not respond to and I think cost the election. The economy at that time was already beginning its growth phase. We were coming out of the recession already. Perot kept hammering away at the past and of course the tax increase hurt as well.  Interesting note that equity markets closed higher yesterday in spite of the jobs data. This election is about the future and not about the past. It is about bridging the gap to increased energy independence. I am not certain that the US will ever do without foreign oil completely in my lifetime. I know I will likely get flamed but drill now, sooner rather than later, and stop the flow of dollars to the opec cartel. No it won't happen tomorrow but if the threat is there I believe Opec will continue to pump and not be so inclined to cut production. The members were greedy in the past and will be in the future. If asset value is declining they pump as much as possible to keep revenue streams flowing. The issues in this election are not about whether or not a 17 year old woman is pregnant. If you don't vote or vote for a write in then you are part of the problem. I think I went off on a tangent or two. But as they say it is the BACK ROOM.

WOW J,

James Manning is harder than me, I read everything I could about Osama, and NONE of it is very pretty, but even I would not bring it out as crassly as that !

By the way, he forgot to mention Osamas stepfather, Lolo Soetoro, who "picked up" with Osama's mother, and took her off to Jakarta Indonesia, where they had their first child, Maya Soetoro, Obamas stepsister.

There he attended Islamic Madrases until the age of 10, when his mother sent,(dumped)him to her parents for further education in Hawaii.

Osama's stepsister described her mother as an agnostic, that felt that too many Christians practiced un-Christian ways. A sharp contrast from how Osama described his mother, as a Christan from Kansas !

But thanks for the link, J. I enjoyed hearing this from someone else !

IF they get elected, which I doubt will happen, and IF McCain should die in office....

a Pitbull just might be able to run this country, contrary to the alternative.

You mean the elder "Read my lips, no new taxes" Bush 41?  Beg to differ.  It wasn't Perot's graphs that cost him the election. Instead, it was, until the Clinton era, what was then largest tax increase in American history that Bush 41 signed instead of vetoing.  (Remember, the one that was supposed save Social Security, and the huge Medicare and Capital Gains tax hikes?)  Had Bush 41 vetoed the tax bill, Congress would have overridden the veto, yes, but at least he would have kept his word.  But noooooooooooo!  He didn't want to look bad by having a veto overturned, so he broke his word to those who elected him.  Got what he deserved for doing it, too, or I should say, didn't get what he didn't deserve -- re-election.  And the resulting economy was what the 1994 Republican "Contract with America" rolled in on in the middle of Clinton's two terms (remember?)

Ladies and gentlemen, it is your Congress that sets the agenda of taxes, controls governmental spending and economic policy.  And right now, that's the Democrats, who, for reasons that are transparent, are happy if the economy is bad. And even if it isn't, they will say it's the "worst economy in the last 50  years" irrespective of the truth, and the Congress who has blocked any sort of sane energy policy, and the Congress who voted to approve the war in Iraq, etc.. etc.  And if Bush 43 is bad, then the current Congress absolutely s - - ks.

But hell, it must be Bush's fault somehow.  That is all I ever hear.  That's the only mantra the left seem to know.  I will take either of the Bush's over Jimmy Carter any time.  I am of an age where I actually remember the worst economy of the last 50 years and buying my first home on a one-year balloon note at 18.5%, double digit inflation, American hostages, an impotent military led by a Commander in Chief who was a buffoon, and "the misery index".  But let's not talk about that.  Elect some more libs, raise taxes on the "rich" and watch what happens to the economy over the next 4 years.  I am sure that will be Bush 43's fault as well.

Good luck all you young folks out there in the job market.  You will need it.  And just wait and see how much of your paycheck you get to keep when the taxes on the "rich" get raised again.  My advice: look for a Government job.  There is never a recession or downsizing of any of those.

Longshot: Ron Paul's point is the War on Terror was not declared Constitutionally. Congress is to Declare War, not offer a Resolution. If Congress had declared war, it would have eliminated some controversy. But as with the War on Poverty, the War on Drugs, it will be that a War on Terror can never be won. The definition of terror has not even been established, so when do we stop the war. My guess is when we run out of money.  'One man's terrorist is another man's freedomfighter.' author unknown.  jeep98

Jaymo: You may have 2 choices, but I am not voting for any lesser of two evils. I'm nowhere near perfect but I refuse to betray my principles once I have found them. I believe a heavy third party vote is the only way to slow down the downward spiral the lesser of 2 evils are leading the US.  jeep98

As usual I put down the wrong information and I take it all back about Mc Cain being Governor of Arizona. He was the Senior Senator from Arizona. He made somerecognizable accomplishments as Senator of Arizona.

Guess I should of got my politics straight before blurting them out...:)
