QB-78 Breech - Leak?
« on: September 14, 2008, 12:11:04 PM »
It's been a pleasure shooting my new MM QB-78 these past few days; it's pellet on pellet accurate and just an overall joy to shoot. I'll probably hunt with it this week. I noticed something with this gun though. Oil seems to leak a little where the breech meets the tube. I'm guessing it's the pellgun oil I use. Now I add a drop on each powerlet, every reload and am wondering if I'm over oiling? I know too much can't be good either. How often should I add oil to the powerlets when replacing them? It's not bad at all, but I do notice that after shooting a round there's oil spatters on the tube right below the breech.

I think you might be over oiling just a bit. I'd try a drop on every 3rd or 4th powerlet. Maybe less often. I'm sure someone will chime in with the proper frequency.

Sounds like more oil than you need........shouldn't have to lube it but once every two tins of pellets. To much of a good thing is not good....could also be some drip down from the bolt...

Could also be that your transfer port seal is a bit gnarled up.
