Made a slight modification to djmyers Spring Compressor it helped me maybe it will help someone else. The washers under the c clamp made it easy to adjust.

Good idea with the washers. Between that and cutting the wood shorter on my clamp end that was suggested I will have a slick running machine instead of alot of flippidee flopping of the clamp.
