NEW LOOK FOR THE RWS P5G CARBINE
« on: June 29, 2008, 07:20:16 AM »
Tim I told you yesterday I had a different stock for the carbine now and I would like some input on it from you and the rest of GTA . It is a improvement from the proto type I think . I know it has some areas that could use some detail but my hands are kinda tied right now . Free labor is hard to come by now a days . I have another plan in mind if this does not set will with me or if I don't just sell it and move on. I am sure I can mate a 1377 stock to it with a little work . It might have one area that's a little strange but it would be out of the main view of the eye .Any way lets get some input here . I am listing this as I am thinking that I can not be the only one that would like a stock for this pistol and may be it will help some one else as well. Marvin

I don't know if you remember but I made the first stock out of PVC tubing which was what was used for the sizing of this one. A friend of mine at the range were I shoot is a machinist that is off work with a bad back . So he did the machining for me between his pain medication times. If I can catch him at the proper time I would like him to work on a adjustable butt plate idea I have for my Discovery . Marvin

I remember it Marvin,

I liked that shoulder stock too ! :) It was a little beefier !

But this looks professional, maybe a rubber but-plate will help make it stick to your shoulder ! :)

Good lookin, buddy !

SCOPE RAIL
« Reply #6 on: June 29, 2008, 01:26:19 PM »
Andy they do not come with a rail . The rear sight screws are sweated on in the inside of the power plant. You have to remove the piston and spring, drill the old screws out , install the RWS rail, sweet the new screws back on , and reassemble the pistol. Or pay Umarex about $75 to do it. Then the rail does not have a stop pin hole so I had to very carefully drill one after it was installed . So if you are going to do it drill the hole before you install the rail .I can tell you by experience the scope will back up if a stop screw is not installed. If you look real close at the rear scope mount you can see the screw I had to install . Marvin
