RWS Model 36 .177cal .....Accuracy Test
« on: January 07, 2009, 12:49:29 PM »
Had some free time after the hectic holiday rush, so I went to my Weapons Locker andpicked up one of my air rifles that I haven't shot in a very, very long time. My RWS Model 36 .177cal. She sure is pretty. Nice and smooth stock, your hands just glide over the woodwork, These Made in Germany air rifles are a well built shooting machine. Well I put about a hundred pellets thru her and she is accurate as my eyes can be. She hit what I was aiming at. My targets are 3/8 diameter dots, at 10meters.I shot Gamo Hunters,Pro Magnums,Gamo Match,Crosman Premier HP, the one in the metal tin,the boxed ones with die #'s stamped on the bottom are out of my budget, Crosman Ultra Magnum,Crosman Wadcutters.and Benjamin HP. The cocking was smooth,no scratching or crunchingsounds at al. When I squezzed the trigger, short first stage and a quick second stage, about 31/2 pounds I say, no guage, and no chrony yet. I plan to get a chrony soon. Saving all my pennies. Well I took some pics, I know you forum members like pics so enjoy, I had a very relaxing afternoon today..........Bill

I gotta tell`ya....  Those ElCheapo brand Crosman Pointed's have performed superbly in both my 460 and the Cyclone.

Apparently the 36 likes them too.

If your talking about the crosman ponted that that you find at Walmart. I used to have a RWS 36 and an RWS 34 and both of them really liked the cheap Crosman. Also the cheap Daisy wadcutters didn't do to bad either.

The RWS Diana guns get better and and smoother the more you shoot them. Still wish I would have held on to the 36.

Enjoy your rifle....James

Wow...all your pellets shoot great in your RWS 36.  Further distance shooting will separate the good from the best.

Nice.  Speaking of WallyWorld, check out WalMart on line store for the F1 Chrony.  You can order shipped to your local WalMart and not have to pay shipping.  Best price I found for one.  Someone else on the GTA suggested that to me almost a year ago.  Good shooting sir.

Most of the drifting off the 3/8 target dots are my shooting, I have a slight sway left and right and occasionly sway up and down, so my POI changes. The best out of the lot, I agree with you, Crosman pointed the best, almost all stacked on top of each other, followed by Crosman Premier HP. The are CHEAP pellets but they perform very well. I buy most of my pelleta at Pyramyd Air, thebuy three tins ,get the fourth free plus 10% off is one of the best prices in town, followed by Midsouth Shooters Supply. good numbers there also. Thanks TCUPS for the heads up at Walmart I got to check it out......really need a chrony........Bill
