i adventured into my first springer tune today i have been taking alot of notes from all the great airgunners on this forum and decided to give it a try so last week i ordered a JM spring (E9870) seal (Apex small) the springer lube kit and some old school buttons. everything arrived in no time at all "JM is the best" i tore it down this morning and made a few measurements and started fabricating delrin spring guides for the new spring. the b-26 does not have a front spring seat guide at least mine didn't and by design would appear to transfer alot spring twang, vibration or such directly to the piston so i made a guide to sleeve the inner rod and give the spring a nice seat. the rear guide was made to only leave 1/6 inch between the two guide ends when cocked, i polished the spring ends and buttoned the piston to take out some slop in the chamber( sorry i was having so much fun i forget to photo the piston with the buttons so that people who didnt' know like me will understand). so how did it all go "WOW" is all i can say, if i did not know better i wouldn't believe there was a spring in there apsolutly no twang, buzz, zip, zap nothing. i took it out to the range and shoot it all afternoon i can't say it was shooting the best groups but wasn't bad, i could not put the gun down it was such a pleasure to shoot.i am sure the groups will get better as it breaks in and i would like to thank everyone here for all the great info. please if you know of or see something in the pics or left out don't hesitate to point it out this is my first but not last my cfx is next "going back to the spring".i will chrony the b-26 and post results when it arrives.
