I have heard the horror stories about the refurbs, but the guys who tried again always come back with good stories. Glad you tried it again.
Gamo's may not be the best Springers but with alittle TLC and some added dollars they are as good as some of the $400.00 and $500.00 air guns sold out there. That's my opinion...

The best part is when you buy a refurb and you do get a decent one, then the cost is not nearly as much as if you buy a new one and then put extra money on top of it to refine it..
