They do NOT come with scopes/mounts, nor do they come with open sights, so a scope of some type is mandatory.  My Legend is currently mounted with a 2 pc. set of Accushot high mounts that really should be changed to mediums, a little lower would probably give me a better cheek weld.

I didn't buy mine new, so I didn't pay $1300 for it, but even if I had, I'd have said it was worth every penny.  I like your description, "never-look-back starting point", it's perfect for this rifle.

I don't know why PA doesn't sell these any more, I just know that AoA is the exclusive US source for the FX line.  In 3 years of playing with "bb guns" I've only dealt with them once, bought some mags and pellets, everything went great.  I say that because I've read lots of post from guys saying they wouldn't buy one of these guns because AoA was the only source.  I take it their customer service leaves something to be desired.  You might be able to find one used like I did, they do pop up now and then, and most are in .22.  Got lucky on mine, I was actually looking for a .177, they're not nearly as common.

Don't forget the extra cost involved in filling PCP's, tanks, fill whips, etc. can add up in a hurry.  But there's always options, living in the sticks like I do, I had to get creative.  Keep us posted.

Done.....

FWIW: AoA's Customer service couldn't have been better and spent time workingme through all the piece parts/peripherals/best lash-ups. I'll try the pump for "...a while..." since my SCUBA tank in the garageis 1964 vintage. (Hell, I've still got my U.S. Divers double-hose regulator... `Memories of when I was a real person again.)

(I need some whole-body work-out after XMas candy/stuff anyway.)

Bob, my apologies, I'm afraid I hijacked your post and never even answered your last question.  Although I haven't owned any Barska scopes, I've used a couple, they seemed okay, probably on par with a Leapers or Tasco.  I've heard spotty reports on QC, though, which is why I've never owned one.  Since you're looking at one for a PCP, might not be such an issue.  Hope that helps.
