Hey all.
I bought this pistol in 1994 or so. I've enjoyed it's camera equipment aura for all these years and have been vexed trying to be accurate with it all this time! It's .177 and like really light pellets like silver bears and H&N wadcutters.
I've asked Mike Melick if he would tune it, and even over the phone I could see his head shaking, "Nah."
Another air gunner sent me the break down chart, and really this little pistol is a "pistol" to take apart!
My question is this. It's been many many years since I bothered to lube it. Mostly since I was never sure what to use or how to apply it.
So:
I want to lube this pistol but I do not want to disassemble it. I have the usual lubes on hand; clear, green and moly. I was thinking of making a solution of moly and another petroleum ester and introduce a Q-tip of the solution into the piston area. Or I could create a more liquid solution ( Moly paste and SAE 30? Or Moly paste dissolved in denatured alcohol or WD-40?) and put a few drops in to that area.
What I don't want to do is leave it as dry as I suspect it is now.
The gun is shooting around 350 to 400fts with the light pellets. I'm not trying to increase velocity, but simply trying to lube it gently for the next 10 years.
Additionally, does anyone know what material the seal is made of?
Thanks for your wisdom and advice!
Neil
