JMG Orders Custom Shroud and Muzzle Brake
« on: June 22, 2007, 07:41:29 AM »

Been talking with John for a few weeks now about the kind of shroud and muzzle brake he wanted for his new QB78D. After chewing the fat a few times on the phone and emails and pm', I think I have come up with his formula..:) It took a bit of hacking and wacking, couple big hammers and a pile driver but I was able to punch it out..hehe Here ya go John.. Your first look. Let me know if you want me to put it in the round file next to my bench and start over..:) By the way this is composed of 6061 aluminum tubing and solid round bar. Delrin inserts at each end of tube for secure fit and will not scratch barrel when slid on. Set to 0 tolerance on all pieces..

Gene....impatience can be a virtue right? lol That looks awesome man ship it ship it ship it!!! LOL Hmmm now my mind is spending money I dont have like..... gettin a LW .22 barrel and tryin my handy work, its only money right? Hmmm maybe a good winter project. Remember us talking about the delrin seperater between the brake and the shroud... I wasnt really sure how it would look but I am liking it now that I see it. I think it adds the necessary break of just the aluminum. Awesome work man!!!

I had to come by this thread and look at the pics again since the pieces didnt show up this afternoon. I am guessing they will be here tomorrow. I am sittin here looking at my airguns in the rack next to my desk....the RWS 34 is as tall as the B26-2... the B3's are a little shorter than the first 2 but not by much. And the Qb is just short lol. Kind of fits me well hehehehe but when the shroud and brake get here it will probably be taller than the B3's. Cant wait to see umm.

I was up at John's place shooting last weekend and saw the QB with the Shroud on it... it's
a thing of beauty. John, you need to get dome pics of it on here to show off a bit.
When I get my QB, I'll be needing one of those on it too, it looks so much more like a
"serious" rifle with it on.
Nice work Gene.
