Cobra Air Gun has lost a customer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
« on: September 10, 2008, 01:15:37 PM »
this isn't a bashing thread but just a statement of the facts of my transaction with cobra airgun and my disappointment with their customer service. i purchased a new r-1 combo 3 weeks ago from joecuz at corba airgun on a friday. cobra didn't ship it until the following monday. i received it on thursday. i shot it about 10 times that night and killed a possum and put the gun up until saturday. after about 50 rounds the scope crapped out. monday i called cobra and found out joecuz didn't work there anymore so the "representative" told me to pack the gun up and shipped everything back to them. i told them i didn't want to return the gun because no two guns have the same wood and i like the wood on this stock, i just wanted to return the scope and they told me i had to send the whole package back. after a brief discussion about the quality of the scope they told me beeman had a problem with these scopes and cobra airgun was trying to get in touch with beeman about it. cobra airgun said THEY WOULD CALL ME BACK!.....well, i waited almost a week and no word from cobra so i called beeman myself. i got right through to customer service, told them the problem and they said send the "SCOPE" to them (not the whole package). ITS BEEN 3 WEEKS AND I STILL HAVEN'T HEARD FROM COBRA AIRGUNS!!!! Beeman sent me a new scope and all is well except for the LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE from cobra airguns. sorry folks but when i drop $600+ on a gun, i expect at least a LITTLE customer service AFTER the sale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....i'm sure i will get rebutles on this but these are the FACTS and cobra airgun has LOST A CUSTOMER!!!.....i'm sure most of you have had no problems with cobra but i don't feel "warm and fuzzy" with the way they treated me on this deal and i won't be spending any more $ with them.

First thing I want to ask is, Where is JOE JOE? It is normal for orders on Friday to ship the following work day. Allot of vendors even put a note saying this item will ship in 24 to 78 hours after order is received. I think Dave at Cobra should place a note some where about shipping policy. Dave of all people should know how we air gun hobbyists are about buying and receiving our orders promptly..:) Dave is an avid air gun shooter and has been since he was a kid. I am not defending Dave but really Cobra Air needs some attention given to customer service. I have run into some issues in the past with call backs. Some times it is quick and sometimes it is slow. But obviously 3 weeks is a bit to much and I would howl at the moon about it also..:) Now remember Roger you can put your vote in the vendors poll section. So regardless this sale slipped through the sheets and Cobra may have to do a bit of explaining to justify this big error.

I did look again at Cobra's sight and it does state: Usually Ships in 2 to 3 Days.

I tried once to order from Cobra Air Guns....the transaction fell through. Somehow their credit card machine didn't accept foreign country's credit cards (Very strange since I had just came back from California...and ordered an air gun from Pomona Air Guns with the same credit card with no problems). Anyways I talked and emailed JoeCuz (Very nice helpful guy) a few times....and he said CAG's accept PayPal....I say great, since I have a PayPal account...I just need to go online and update any info. Did that and emailed JoeCuz/CAG....they promptly send me an email saying they've received my email and will contact me.....never happened. :o( Time passed and I got interested in other PCP's on other webpages.....so they lost a potential customer. No hard feelings since I didn't really order from CAG....and I'll visit them the next time I'm in New York city....they're about an hour and a half from where I usually stay. I guess the lack of Customer Service is due to the popularity of CAG.....it's hard to balance the personnel/staff to run a business....large or small. And this goes to other sort of businesses....not just air gun vendors.

Gene, where's the "Vendors Poll" section?

i wasn't complaining about the shipping.  i only stated that because i wanted to explain the ENTIRE transaction.  cobra shipping the gun on monday wasn't an issue.  the issue is/was that cobra FAILED to call me back and provide customer service AFTER THE SALE.....i didn't have any problems like this when joe was working there, if he said he would call you back.....he would!!

i don't know.  i bought the gun from him on aug. 15th and called back on aug. 25th about the problem and he was gone.  one thing about joe, he knows how to provide customer service.  he's very good at it because he treats people the way he wants people to treat him.

Roger,as I mentioned to you in our many conversations,it is a horrible feeling when you spend your hard earned money with a dealer & find out that customer service does not perform their duties,I believe that the job title is what their resonsibility should be,,,TO SERVE THE CUSTOMER,obviously this is not how you were treated......I  am  happy to have assisted you with your scope issue, even though I no longerer was working at Cobras,I guess that's what customer service should have done, sometimes we have to learn from our experiences & move on,just as I am doing... :emoticon:

joe,
i truely thank you for your "CUSTOMER SERVICE".  you didn't work at cobra any longer and was still willing to assist me with this problem since you sold me the gun.  that shows REAL ENTEGRITY & CHARACTER on your part.  if it hadn't been for you, this problem would probably STILL be going on.  Thank-you again!!!.
