Going strong
« on: September 18, 2008, 05:09:52 AM »
and hot on their tail's.:) I promised Mike aka "SPLASH" that I would take his FANTASTIC CUSTOM B3! out for one more hunt before I sent her home. She had already taken a Rabbit on a earlier hunt this year so I knew she could hunt so let's go hunting. I was out the door at sunrise, SPLASH B in hand with a Predator chambered and headed for the timber. What a inspiring morning with the sun finding it's way through the tree's and that brand new day smell in the air but time to focus as I entered the stillness of the tree's. I wanted to find a hide since this baby throw's off some " bling bling" and did so as I hunkered into an old brush pile with just my camocap, eye's and the end of the barrel sticking out. The bird's started to wake up and sing their morning song's and I knew that the squirrel's would be moving around soon so I Zenned up and eyeballed every nook and cranny of the tree's for movement. My intense search was rewarded by the first nutter of the morning who had popped out of nowhere and began cleaning himself on a limb fifteen yard's out and about ten foot up. I raised myself up on my knee's and slide the  "B" out very slowly and let the crosshair's drop to find a great profile on dat spot and sent him a morning cup of lead which sent him to the dirt where he danced for a moment but gave into the power of lead and poly. Letting him rest I slid back down into the brushpile to reload and give any other's moving around a moment to collect themselves which I gess didn't take long as another began to make his way from tree to tree forty yard's out, come to me nut buddy.:) He weaved his way back and forth with no interest in his fallen partner but in my brush pile. He froze about twenty yard's out and was looking right at my hide dead on so what the heck , back onto my knee's and repeat. His tail was shaking like crazy as he was trying to figure out what I was , a stare down between him and the scope. He lost , the Predator was sent and hit him directly in the front of his skull and he shut down so fast that there wasn't even a twitch fro him as he lay in the dirt. Both nutter;s bled hard but expired quickly which is what I look for as always. "SPLASH'S B3 has performed flawlessly and is a pleasure to shoot and just to jar everyone's memory, it was a PASS AROUND shooter that he wanted other GTA member's to check out and injoy and if you care to spend some time with her drop Mike a PM, he's a great guy and good friend. For you B3 owner's and tuner's, you might want to check into this ton's of mod's and customizing on her. Thank's Mike for letting Shadow take her hunting. Ed

Thanks Ed. Yeah she can be a real challenge to hunt with, being as bright as she is,hehe. She's quite enough though, that it dosn't take long for them to come back out and show themselves. I had allot of fun tinkering with that one. Like Ed said, just let me know if you wanna play with her.

Thank's Airbud, the pleasure was mine but I did notice some Nutter's were sporting sunglasses when I headed out of the stick's hehehe. A very impressive shooter and Mike did some superb work on her. Ed

I thought my computer screen was playing tricks on me.  I`m thinking that barrel can`t be that shiny.  Guess it is....and those nutters wanted to check themselves out in the "mirror".  Instead they got "checked out" by it.  heh heh

What's the plan for rust prevention? Wax? Oil? Nyalic?

Yeah Mike, I used to use T-9 at the boat yard.  We sparayed it on the outboard motors and the cables and controls to keep the salt buildup down and help fight corosion. great stuff.
