new used b-3 flee market gun pics.
« on: September 18, 2008, 10:25:14 AM »
Heres a couple pictures of my new used flee market b-3 gun in 177 cal, I've tuned it and brought it back to a leather seal  it's a good thing it pulled it apart since the old seal was falling off the piston. as well as recrowning it and chokeing the barrel and cut the barrel to 14 inches ans added a muzzel break too ,  recarved the stock as well as a refinish job,and a new handel on the cocking lever the old crosman cly trick. LOL  it shoots very good as all my china guns do. It needed to have all tha black paint taken off the stock as well as the metal ( barrel ext) I tried to remove the groves in the forearm but I couldn't take all the groves out and still have a forearm left, but it's a little better than stock. howie

Thanks Ed this is the 3rd b3 I've had and they all are good shooters maybe one day I'll find one in 22 cal, I seen the stock mod on Kermit Air gun Club under their b3 contast and liked it it's not my design but it is a fun rifle as you know with all the b3 you have. howie

The crazy thing is I'm trying to down size my heard but when a sweet little deer comes your way how can you let her pass by. The poor thing needed some love and care a new dress up and tune.

Very clean sharp B-3 Howie. Is that the original stock or did you make it? Anyway you have done a beautiful job with the stock and the action is really clean, not to mention your muzzle brake which really balances it out..:)

Thanks for sharing.

It's the original stock just recarved I wish I could have got rid of the forearm groves totally but it would have made the forearm too week . howie

Looks great, nice resurrection!!
Not to beat a bleeding horse but did you by chance do before and after accuracy tests with your choke?

On one of my 3's I did sand down the stock deep enough to remove the groves, very slender and nice to hold. I'll see if I can post a pic or 2. My wood was 1/2 filler, so I used bed liner on it. Still, even though without the gun mounted I could squeeze the end and see it move closer together, I have not have a problem yet. Only about 500 rounds in it so still plenty of time to prove me wrong. I just don't see where it will.

+ how/wherer did you choke the barrel? I have a loose breach, pellets keep falling out that I insert, on this one, and would like to tighten it up.
I came into this world with nothing, and I still have most of it left!
