Middle of the night hunt

I woke up around 3:30 am to go to the bathroom, and went to go shut the window because it was getting chilly in the house. I went to the window and looked out and saw some dark objects moving under the bird feeder. I quickly grabbed the binoculars and confirmed that I had activity under the feeder, there were 2 rats moving quickly in and out of the small area lit up bye the solar powered light I have hanging on the side of the feeder.  I quietly opened the screen and then went to the bedroom to take the BSA sportsman HV out of the safe, mind you my wife was sleeping and would have been mad I was up and hunting at 3:30 :)  So I stalked into the bedroom with a small flashlight in hand and snuck the gun out quickly and quietly. I got to the window and loaded up the magazine with a couple .22 Kodiak's and within a few minutes I had activity. I had a head on shot and wanted to wait for a broadside, but couldn't wait and took it anyway. I got him lined up in the cross hairs and slowly squeezed the trigger. I heard the infamous Pop and watched him do the death roll right through the scope. I hung out for a little while and didn't see anything else moving around, So I went to bed and had a peaceful sleep :)  I woke up this morning and went out to investigate. I found him laying right where I had last seen him. I carefully looked him over and at first couldn't find a mark on him. I looked closer and found that I put the pellet right through his left eye and there was a big exit wound/slice on the white of his under belly. I just love the BSA it's deadly accurate with no recoil and with the Kodiaks at the highest setting it is putting out 37.5 ft lbs. not too bad for a ratter...he he

I like the checkering on your stock....looks very familiar to my BSA Scorpion T-10.  Looks like your`s have the cocking and indexing system where U use only the index and middle finger (Flick the bud forward...).  Incredible shot....right in the eye in the middle of the night.  Congrats.

It seems the rat didn't go to waste... About an hour after I tossed him over the fence, this guy flew in and got him self a free meal.  Hope you can see him in the pics, I had the camera on 25x zoom. It looks like mister red tail had himself a nice meal perching up there :)

That is a big heathen (the rat) and anything that makes hawks happy makes me smile. What a great two-fer. Nice shooting.

Love that BSA.  Looks beautiful.  Wow 37fpe? Nice..  I didn't know they could get that powerful.  Yeah those Kodiaks retain a lot of power.  PCP's love heavy pellets.

Mike, it 's the BSA sportsman HV in .22. It's definitely the most accurate and quiet gun I own.  Harry, I have the power setting turned all the way up. It shoots the 32 grain pointed Eun jins at an average of 770 for a little over 42 ft lbs.
