Bad day to have breakfast in my backyard...
« on: September 23, 2008, 03:28:10 AM »
Well, I just got back from Hotlanta at the NMCA races and we had a blast. This morning, as I am prying open my eyes open with my first cup of coffee and I spied a nut muncher making his way down out of my walnut tree via a branch on the adjacent hackberry tree. I decided to give him a welcome home present in the form of a dirt nap. Notice in the pics he still has the walnut firmly in his jaws as I turned off his fusebox with a RWS Superdome thrown at him with my Gamo Hunter 440.

This should be a good nutter season as I have a bumper crop of walnuts out back....

You know I've seen a couple pics on the forum of nutters with the nut still intact.  I tend to see this as the JACKPOT of the nutter slots.  Nice pay-out!  Makes wish I was at home.  My beautiful girlfriend keep telling me about the nutters that have been invading our trees when I'm at work.  By the time I get home they're elsewhere.  Guess they know better, eh?  See van leave(coast is clear), van returns(Daddy's home!).

Good shooting!

Nice blood spatter on the tree. Adds that special touch. I bet that one won't taunt you again. I've been waiting for cooler weather, and to let them fatten up a little more.

This season has produced a TON of good looking nut munchers in our area. The weather has been cool, lately and I think this has them fattening up and putting on their winter coats early. The cottontails are getting thick, too. MMMMMM..... gonna have me some good eatin' this winter.
