I haven't heard many good dove stories this year, mabey this is why..
The wife has them fattened up and living in my backyard. These are 1 lb birds and all hers. Off limits to me..
I stoped counting at 150.

Dude,...give her the debit card for a Saturday afternoon shopping trip, and then slay as many as you can!!! My goodness brother, she won't miss the 20 or so you can 'do up' in the crock-pot!!!! HP's or Wads, you'll knock'em dead!!!! Besides,...you've  seen the prices they want at the grocery store for meat?!?!?!? And the "natural resource's"  are there for the taking. Not sure about the state laws where you reside, but if you can,...I say control the masses!!!!! They gotta die! LOL's  tjk

Not shure of your laws there Randal,,,,,, most likely if its like here,,, Ya must use a SHOTGUN  to knock down them HUGE birds. "BB Guns" just would not have enough power. Sigh. My wife would NEVER stop me (I can still "Take Her") LOL!! Course,,,,, Aint tryin no Game Wardens on!!He He!! Man would I be eatin good ifin I were at your house!! Tim.

If I had a modified choke i could kill 5 at a time.  Our laws do not allow it witha pellet gun.. Any game animal in texas is off limits.. dove, quail, duck, deer, squirrel. are off limits.. BUT WABBITS ARE OK..

 I need a pesky wabbit now..
 Any pest animal can be dispatched on your property tho, so I im trying to figure out how a whitewing could be a pest????????   I can't come up up with anything tho..  The squirrels tho eat my wireing and chew thru my a/c ducts in my attic, so I may have an out..   Its something I am looking to...  They also make a tun of noise in the attic...

I suggest you rent the movie, "The Birds" by Alfred Hitchcock.....tell you wife it COULD happen!!!!  lol    Man, 1lb doves.....she's spending alot of moola on birdfeed.  Time to get some benefits out of it.  You can always say they're pooping all over your yard and roof etc. and causing a health hazard......

Here in CA, taking a dove during the season with an AG is fair game, says so in the CA Fish and Game booklet. If you can't even count all of them, she wouldn't be able to either, she won't notice the few that aren't there. Wish I was where you were at though... dove stew, dove on the grill, dove in a pot, dove in the oven, dove taco, dove all-kinds-of-ways.... oh man... I'm getting hungry. -GB
