Anyone with a Diana rifle will agree that these guns are powerful!! Well here's a lesson to learn for the new and experienced shooters,....kinda embarrassing story to tell. Yesterday afternoon I was doing my usual practice session and had the spoons spinning. Well I got the idea to try the open-sights just barely visible through the Leaperscompensator scope rail. While there's not much room for view, it is possible. I shoot south-paw, and was having a hard time bringing the target into focus,closer,...closer,...etc. Wasn't quite ready to fire when the sear let loose and she went off,.....lesson #1,...Keep you finger off the trigger until ready to fire. Lesson #2 forget trying to go to the irons with these mounts!!!! Well you guessed it folks,....not a case of 'scope-eye',...but more like'scope fore-head'!!! Ouch!!!!!! Nice little cresent slice over my right eye. Needless to say, I got a1" gash that cut me down to the white-meat,....no ratial slur intended,...but enough worthy of a few stitches. Did the "home" medical procedure and cut a few butter-flies to close it up. Stitches are too expensive at the present time. Boy did I feel stupid,... and STILL DO,......but it is a lesson I'll soon not forget,...if ever. I'll be reminded of it each time I look into the mirror for the rest of my life.I love this rifle, and have found little fault in its performance, but I will say that the triggercan be inconsistant, as I've found out since I'vehad it. Still no excuse for what happenned to me,...That's My Fault. But I wishthe Diana company could have put a little more thought intoit's design. Just MyHonest Opinion though. For such a fine weapon, they kinda dropped the ball with this faccet of design. It's a shame the GRT-III wouldn't work in this rifle. What does Homer Simpson say?!?!?!?........Dooooooh! Happy Shooting, andlet my story be a lesson to us all. tjk
