Ground rats
« on: October 02, 2008, 09:09:54 AM »
I wanted to get the Discovery out even though I knew better. The wind was blowing too hard for the squirrels to be out. Managed to shoot three from 30 to 40 yards. Missed one at 55.

Here is my equipment and squirrel hunting rig.

Great shooting.  Looks like you were on a safari hunt....with all that gear.  Are those home-made bi-pod sticks?

Yes, the sticks are homemade. They are made from a shortened square tube camera tripod. The adjustable legs are an asset.

Nice setup you got there!  Great shooting at 30-40yds!  Those ground dwelling critters didn't stand against the Disco :)

BTW, I only see 1 squirrel.. did you get hungry and eat the other 2 before you took the pics? hehe
