My experances with a shadow sport
« on: November 02, 2006, 10:23:58 AM »
So I have owned this rifle for about a month now. Put close to 1500 rounds through it. And I've learned quite a bit about shooting in the past month and am now very confident with this gun. I’ve tried numerous different pellets with various success. Right now the gun likes cheepie Crossman’s (around 7.9-8.2 grains). It’s like the JSB predators for the most part but those are way too expensive to shoot all the time. These Crossman’s are $4 for 500 so figure why not. One thing it did not seem to like were heavy pellets. So im going to stick to around 8 - 8.5 grains.

But I’m shure you all know that I was having problems with this gun right away and was skeptical with my purchase. I did a lot of reading of symptoms others have had (as well as talking to Charlie) and applied that to what I was doing. There seems to be a weird variation of velocity this gun was having. One minuet it would shoot perfect and the next 6-8 inches low. Well I seemed to have nipped that in the bud. What it was the breech seal wasn’t sealing up all the way. I took a staple (very thin wire) and put it under the seal to raise it up a little bit and attempt to make it seal better. Well that shure did the trick. Now the only time I have an issue is possibly with a flyer. Gun shoots like a dream.

And last but not least was the trigger. I have been reading an awful lot about Charlie tuna's amazing triggers. So I promptly got a hold of him and sent out my money order. Now less than 6 days later I had a beautiful gold anodized trigger in my hands. The installation was so simple and straight forward I couldn’t believe it. I took my time and it still only took 30 minuets to install. That included adding some oil to the hidden gun parts under the stock, and lock-titeing down the screws.
So onto how it shot. This trigger is amazing. It took me about 20 shots or so to get used to how smooth and consistent it breaks. This is a perfect trigger. No adjustments were necessary at all. It is so nice it reminds me of my HS Precision I just bought. Very light and crisp and dosent upset the gun one bit.

So if there are any questions at all on some thing I may have missed feel free to ask me.
And thanks to everyone who helped me out in the past month and also Charlie for an amazing trigger.

LOL 88

U gonna step into da dark zone... hehe   I did and love my FX Cyclone very much. But I don't shoot is as much as my S1K's or CFX's. It is a completly different experience shooting a PCP. Da trigger on my $800.00 Cyclone is a nice as all my CDT triggers n me Gamo guns..

Glad to hear you got ur Shadow sorted out. You will even love it more, the more you shoot it..hehe

Good Luck

Gonna pump up, I thought about it but right now I want to hot rod my shadow sport and I've been ignoring my big guns, their giving me that evil look. I'm sure heading that direction though. If I came home with another gun now my wife would take a swing at me with it. :D
