I dunno about that one though......

I mean, I've shot a squirrel in the neck from 25 yards with a predator coming out of my Shadow 1000 at around 880 fps and it didn't come out.  Course, it could likely took a turn and traveled further into his body but...

I dunno.

I never saw that pic before, but I guess it's possible,,, especially on a rabbit.  They're rather "soft" targets so I guess that type of exit wound could be possible  using a predator on a bunny.  It would be nice though to know more info concerning that kill such as gun, caliber, distance etc before I totally accepted it.  

I will say however that I shot a squirrel yesterday with the RWS 350 .22 cal at about 15 yards using a predator pellet,,, hit him in the neck and the predator did exit the other side of the neck leaving a good sized, bleeding hole,,, although it wasn't a gaping hole like in that picture.  

I've only been seriously hunting with the predator pellets for 3 days now but I will say I am a believer!!  Accuracy is amazing and the effectiveness on game is tremendous.  I bought my RWS 350 and GAMO 1250 specifically for hunting small game, and the predator pellets perform so well, and have impressed me so much, I doubt I'll use anything else in those 2 guns.   (unless of course something better comes along).

Predator Pellets are not good in most guns . The can be the best thing there ever was, or *_*_*_*_*_*.



I don't think there are good in the slow guns , or the super fast ones. I think they are best at 800 to 900 fps. They like to melt there plastic at high speeds and wobble at slow speed.

I guess the Predator pellets are like anything else, some people like them and some may not.  Also, I guess some guns like them and some don't.  For me they have performed excellent no matter which of my guns I load them into, so I'm very satisfied with them.  They are just like any of the other pellets on the market in that your gun may or may not shoot them well.  If you are happy with them then great, if you're not then just cross them off your pellet list.  We as air gunners try so many different pellets to find the "right one", the Predators are just one more option to try or not to try.

Thats for sure Jeff. I have ordered two tins of them and hope at least one of my .177 or .22 likes them...:) If not you will be getting a box in the mail before Christmas..:)

I found that out on my Gamo's. They all love the RWS Superdomes except for one... Like you say, just keep trying different pellets until your gun smiles and says " I like dose ones "..:)

I just tryed my predators again today. ANd my groups are about 1.5-2 inches :(  Cheepie crosman pointed ones are 1/4 inch . .WIsh it was the oter way around...

Predators are interesting pellets.  I have found that in my rifles that like JSB Exacts, the Predators will shoot very similar groups - a negligible difference for hunting purposes.  This is true for both .17 and .22 Cal rifles.  Thiis permits shooting targets with the Exacts and saving the more expensive Predators for hunting.  Has anyone else experienced this?

Yote, I have to admit your young eyes are indeed much keener than my tired "old" eyes.  I looked at the picture again and you are correct,,, that is indeed a chipmunk, and you may have solved the mystery as to whether the damage in the picture is possible.  I believe your assessment is accurate,,, I would not doubt a predator doing that kind of damage to a chipmunk, especially if it was a close shot.  By the way, how you been making out with deadly Shadow of yours?   How bout posting some pics of any recent kills you may have made??  Hope you're enjoying that new shotgun I heard about, hope you get a deer with it.  It's not airgun related but I shot a nice deer (doe) the other day.  Now that I have some venison in the freezer I can get back to lifes serious matter of Airgunning  :)

Jeff...i have just bought a "on sale" powerline scope for 5 dollars at wally world,put it on my shadow and it holds up,this christmas i hope to get a one peice to put on my simmons,the simmons is much clearer....but for now the powerline is  fine...the big starling migration is almost here...if its like the past years it should start right around the same time as shotgun deer season..ive killed birds with my beeman,when i had the powerline on it,but none latly with the shadow,have you saw the picture of the Ground squirrel i shot this summer? talk about carnage,you shoot the doe with your bow?if you havent saw the chipmunk ill post pictures in a sec,just for the people who havnt saw it...thanks,and have a good one..

Hey Yote,

Glad to hear you re-scoped the Shadow, even if it's just temporary until you get that 1 piece mount you need. I am always amazed when the starling migration gets going,,,, it's just awesome to see all those birds!! They are still migrating from my area, and there are still huge flocks at the duck farm I shoot at, but they are so skiddish that you get one shot and the entire flock disappears.  Very frustrating.

As for the doe I got,,, I have been bowhunting for deer lately but haven't arrowed one.  The doe I shot the other day I shot with my 9mm Glock pistol while I was at work.  Poor thing got hit by a car resulting in both back legs being broken, so I had to put it out of it's misery.  The deer didn't really have any meat damage from the accident, and I hated to see the meat go to waste,  so I took threw it into the trunk, took my meal period and drove it to my house, which was only a few miles away, where I gutted it and hung it.   I keep my game hoist in my "hanging tree" all year for just such instances.  Unfortunately I have to shoot quite a few deer each year and I usually wind up taking a couple home for the meat.  The ones I don't take one of the other guys usually takes, or we  give it to the motorist who hit it if he wants it.

Anyway, I hope you get that 1 piece mount you need, and I hope you get in some good shooting with the S1k in the meantime with that powerline scope.
