Squirrels..The potato chip of the critter world...
« on: October 13, 2008, 05:31:47 AM »

Ok, so I guessed wrong again@!

As you all know, last week I went on a shooting spree at the behest of Bruce. (Aka ruler of Bruceland) Over the course of that week I bagged about 9 squirrels. In one day I bagged 4 and a chipmunk and put it up for you all to see. A day previous to that I bagged 3 squirrels and a chipmunk.

I figured it'd be awhile before we were over populated again and any real threat to our lawns and trees existed. WRONG! I get up this morning and look out my kitchen window to see my nemesis (The lady white squirrel) and 3, yes 3 others running around. Unfortunately for the 3 others, they were not white.

There is now once again 1 white and 1 gray roaming around. I shall have to keep closer tabs on our never ending supply of nutters.

The small one up top took a Kodiak at 33 yards. Went in one side and out the other almost exactly straight.

The big one at the bottom took it in the side of the head at 35 yards but exited just above the opposite shoulder with an impressive spray of blood. Both did a nice dance for me before ceasing.

And it's only 12:30 here!!

That's some nice shot placement.  I'm sure with that kind of power they didn't dance for long at all.  Great shooting!
Go git \'em!

Here in Wisconsin I haven't a choice tjk.  The albinos are protected.  She knows it too!  Every once in awhile I'll shoot one of my spinner targets while she's nearby.  She doesn't even flinch anymore.  She knows....

I'll do my best to get a pic of her for you guys.
