JSB Exacts and Shadow 1000
« on: November 05, 2006, 12:20:14 PM »
Well all my Gamo's love RWS Superdomes. Either .177 or .22's. I pulled down my newest S1K for a little paper punching on Friday morning. Was practicing shooting with both eyes which I mentioned in an earlier post on the main forum.

Well I was shooting all around the bulls at 40 yards. About a two inch pattern with the RWS Superdomes. So I checked everything and actually thought my idea of shooting with two eyes open was a fallacy.. But went back to one eye and the same thing was going on. All around the bulls but not inside a 1 inch pattern. So I took out a new tin of Superdomes and opened them up thinking I might of got a bad batch. So I started shooting with the new tin. Same thing again. So I tried with my older S1K and they were hitting right on the bulls almost every time. Then I changed scopes and same thing. Changed mounts and same thing.

Hmmmm, was running out of options I thought. Well I had bought a couple tins of JSB Exacts a couple months ago to try out in my Gamo's and they did not work well in any of my .177's or .22.

To make a long story short...:) I popped in a pellet and shot one off. It hit to the right of the bulls but on the line. So I kept shooting and dang if those JSB's were hitting dead center after a scope adjustment. I must have shot 50 more and all of them were punching the red dot out of the targets.

So this confirms what I have always believed. Two alike models of springers don't always like the same pellets.:) Only down side is that now for this S!K, I have to buy JSB's..... lol

You're not alone Gene, my bosses Varmint Hunter also prefers JSB Exacts, although it's not as adamant about it as yours.  So don't feel bad, the JSB's aren't THAT expensive :-).  What size JSB's did it like?  The 4.52 mm seem to be the ticket for the guns I've tried them in, which is why I have a lot of 4.50, 4.51, and 4.53's.  Of course, you could always sell it, you do have 14 more as I recall.  Later.

I just used the Standard JSB Diablos. Did not by oversize ones. They tend to fit snug which I like. Loose ones most always do not fing the spot..:)
