Mothers Instict!
« on: October 22, 2008, 05:22:55 AM »
As most of you know I breed dogs (AKITAS),well today I'm playing Mr. Vet. my dog(KANDEE) starting dropping her pups at 7:30 this morning,I was hoping she could hold out untill the weekend,I'm moving on Friday & I really do not want to have to move her pups.......that's just the way my luck has been..but that's o.k..........I have seen many amazing things in my dog breeding time,,,what I witnessed today was a mothers will to protect hers......after five ours & six pups later,I knew Kandee needed to get out & relieve herself & after a few hours you are supposed to take her to do so.....I took her,we got 40-50feet outside my door & she took her usually lady like position & relieved herself,as she gat back up she drops the seventh pup,I was caught by suprize with this,I took my baseball cap & was going to put the pup in it & bring it inside.......Kandee reaches down & grabs the pup in her mouth & draggs me back inside & upstairs to her nesting den & proceeds with her mom-like ways......Kandee is about 130+ lbs & very powerfull, she dragged me like it was nothing, yet so gingerly held on to her baby.....it was just an experience I needed to share with my friends....I am a dog lover & believe it or not a big mushy one at that :)  :0  :D

Hey Joe, congrats to Kandee for having 7 (Or more?) pups.  Yep, a long time ago I had a mixed-German shepard and she gave birth to a few litters of puppies....and mom dogs are very protective of their babies.

Congrats DAD!  I bet that's gotta be a hoot watchin' your doggies have pups.  I haven't been there in a while but I've seen the miracle before.  You gotta post some pics a few weeks from now when they're showing their true colors!

You know what they say Joe,....7's a lucky #!!! Just be careful around Candee and give them all space. My Zoey is a pure sweet-heart, but when she had her litters, she was all about business if you  know what I mean. And I stayed the heck out of her business too!!!!! Post some pix Bro'! tjk

She's up to nine, she might not be done...........she's a great dog,I get right in there with her & move them around so she don't accidently suffocate them, shes done that already, she's so big & fluffy that she don't feel them behind her........she is the easiest female I've been around :o to bad she wasn't human :p  I wouldn't have any ex's in my life..... :D
