Fenix L2D flashlight. This one is powered by two AA batteries.
https://www.fenix-store.com/product_info.php?cPath=22_55&products_id=407It is a great little light, about the size of a Mag 2AA, but it will blow you away in comparison. Few people own a flashlight this bright. It will reach to 30 yards plus and light up a FOV wider than a scope well enough to hit a target. This light could be mounted in a variety of ways on an airgun, and it has both a slim profile and a great beam.
Output will sustain a lot longer on AA nickel metal hydride batteries, but it will do OK on alkalines, especially if you use it on lower power settings. This is THE light of my collection I would choose if I had to keep just one. Does it all. Brightest setting is 135 lumens, four light levels plus some blink modes. On the lowest level (still quite useful) you can get 60 hours from 2AA's. Latest Cree LED module.

http://www.flashlightreviews.com/reviews/fenix_l1dce-l2dce.htm$50, and try entering discount code clear15 to get price to $43 shipped (did not confirm they will accept this for "sale" items). This is a reduced price for the olive colored anodizing, but this is actually the best color, and most protective. You no longer have to use CR123's to get really high output, or pay the SureFire price, either. The designs that work with AA's have best operating economy.
