Nice spring everning
« on: October 25, 2008, 08:34:03 PM »
Hi.. was getting bored with TV so why not go for a shoot
So loaded gun in the car and was off went to a spot I had not shot before
went for a walk up there a few months back an noticed a lot of bunny
scratching to meany for just 1 bunny.
Arrived after about 15 min drive. loaded the gun and was of into the scrub
walked along the side of the taylor river. But I had over looked 1 thing it
is spring and the snow is melting the 2/3"of water was now about 300mm
deep no bounceing from rock to rock today. Only one thing for it DAM was
that water was cold and I hate walking with puddles in me boots. got that ordeal over with.
Was of wandering though the broom its all in flower "should have warn a yellow shirt"
there I was sneaking around poping up every so often to peer over a bush with no luck
So gave up the stealth idea and just started walking slowly hopeing  only deaf bunnys
lived here as every step I took all yer could hear was the slop of the puddles in my boots.
And yes I found a deaf one "maybe blined to"as I walked up to about 15m of him
before I seen it He looked at me,I looked at him slowly lifted the gun, fiddled with the zoom
"dont usely get to shoot bunnys that close" 7X was a bit much and hes still trying to stair me down.
"no luck fluff ball you'r toast" And he was/is. I was happy one for the pot and leave some for
next time.   And I had to deal with that dam river again on the way home.
And Hes now lying around naked in me freezer.
have run out of .22 preditors so used  of all things winchester domed pellets.
