harvest came today after a long wait. I had picked her up new from Leftcoast aka Jason awhile back and during that time she was shot a dozen times and then taken down for a tune, she's smooth and accurate for a cheap Daisy but the quality was darn good. Anyhow after running some lead through her to find what she likes and to season the barrel I decided that today was the day to teach her how to hunt. She was shootin nickle size patterns at 30yrds and really likes the CPHP and Predator's, thank the airgun Gods hehehe so it was time to show me what she's got. Loaded up and headed for Squirrel City and hoping the whole way there that she would take her first harvest today and make me proud. On arriving I spotted the resident out in his yard doing fall cleanup, we chewed the fat and I showed him the new hunter for the day and then headed for the woods. We had a big rain last night so the leaves were nice and soft for stalking through as I made my way into the treeline. I did a feeder check, nothing there yet so I headed for the fence line at the back of the property while scanning ground and tree for movement. About half way back I spotted movement 20yrds to the side of me, it was a big one and he was headed for the feeder's of coarse . Without being spotted I froze and let him pass by and then flanked him slowly back towards the feeder's and watched as he leaped from a limb onto the feeder. With him preoccupied with the swinging feeder I moved within 20yrds and setup for a shot. The feeder settled down from it's swinging and the nutter began to fill his cheeks so happy with my position I raised her up and placed the crosshairs on the sweetspot, just love that sweetspot. The scope is a cheap Gamo but has held up great with clear glass and with a nice image of his lil head I went into the hunt Zen mode and sent the CPHP away. YES! she's a hunter as I watched as he spun off the feeder, hit the turf and did a ten second death dance. Nothing but smiles and a gentle caress for her as I made my way to her first harvest and she nailed him hard as the blood was still flowing when I got there. Got a pic for you all, can you see her smiling hehehe and cleaned another big buck up for supper later. Now that I'm satisfied with her hunting skill's, the stock comes off for the urban camo treatment which will work during the winter too.:) Ed
