here's the 1322 mini review I promised dave2288
« on: November 07, 2008, 04:36:20 AM »
Just got back from a family vacation, where every member of my family ended up sick with the flu.  If you've ever flown sick you know how bad that can be, add in a sick wife, a 1 y.o. and a 3 y.o. and you end up with the flight from hell.  It was almost comedic how many things conspired to make that the worst flying experience of my life, and I can honestly say I am not at all eager to get back on a plane again.
Well, on a good note I received the Mac1 power and accuracy prepped 1322 from brown santa, and a set of beautiful RB laminate grips that came in the mail the same day.  Haven't felt well enough to do much with it until last night.  I put the grips and forearm on cleaned the barrel and attached a cheap copperhead red dot sight.  I have a stock 1377 that I've had for 10 years, so I have a direct comparison. The pumping action is a little smoother due to the amount of lube either mac1 or the factory applied then how i remembered the stock 1377  being initially (its very smooth now btw).  The RB grips makes it feel a lot more substantial, and makes the easy pumping even easier.  I ran it over the chrono and got good results  w/ 14.3g cphp, at 6 pumps 435 fps, 8 pumps 493 fps, 10 pumps 534 fps, and 12 pumps 561 fps , and 15 pumps 601 fps for 11.472 fpe, which is more than sufficient for close and mid range varmint/small game hunting.  Not bad for such an inexpensive pistol.  I then proceeded to shoot paper at 10 yards, and this thing didn't dissapoint.  I got hole in hole accuracy off a rest, and penny sized groupings freehand.  Overall, a fine pistol at a bargain price.  I'm off to do some field tests with the resident squirrel population.  More to follow.....

great review...hope you have lots of fun with that gun...how much would you estimate that the cocking effort is near 10-12 pumps?

you know it's surprisingly easy.  Once you get the hang of it it really requires very little effort.   Once it breaks in, I anticipate it'll get even easier.  Effort is relative however, and I don't have a quantifiable way of measuring the actual force it takes to pump it.  But again, if you are an average man, you should have no problem.  I enjoyed it so much last night I ended up putting about 250 pellets through her, and didn't feel fatigued at all.  The accuracy for the price is outstanding, and with the Mac1 power prep you have more than enough power to take her varmint/small game hunting.

I just realized you have a 760, it's very similar in pumping effort to the 760, maybe a bit easier.

The MA 1325 is a fine pistol,  just a bit more than I wanted to spend.  I was able to do mine for under $200.  Of course I had to order from 2 different sources (Mac1 and RB grips), and install the grips myself (very easy).  I just posted a pic of it in the hunting gate with her first get.
