Just got back from a family vacation, where every member of my family ended up sick with the flu. If you've ever flown sick you know how bad that can be, add in a sick wife, a 1 y.o. and a 3 y.o. and you end up with the flight from hell. It was almost comedic how many things conspired to make that the worst flying experience of my life, and I can honestly say I am not at all eager to get back on a plane again.
Well, on a good note I received the Mac1 power and accuracy prepped 1322 from brown santa, and a set of beautiful RB laminate grips that came in the mail the same day. Haven't felt well enough to do much with it until last night. I put the grips and forearm on cleaned the barrel and attached a cheap copperhead red dot sight. I have a stock 1377 that I've had for 10 years, so I have a direct comparison. The pumping action is a little smoother due to the amount of lube either mac1 or the factory applied then how i remembered the stock 1377 being initially (its very smooth now btw). The RB grips makes it feel a lot more substantial, and makes the easy pumping even easier. I ran it over the chrono and got good results w/ 14.3g cphp, at 6 pumps 435 fps, 8 pumps 493 fps, 10 pumps 534 fps, and 12 pumps 561 fps , and 15 pumps 601 fps for 11.472 fpe, which is more than sufficient for close and mid range varmint/small game hunting. Not bad for such an inexpensive pistol. I then proceeded to shoot paper at 10 yards, and this thing didn't dissapoint. I got hole in hole accuracy off a rest, and penny sized groupings freehand. Overall, a fine pistol at a bargain price. I'm off to do some field tests with the resident squirrel population. More to follow.....
