Look's great to me, nice texture contrast between the smooth area and stippled area.  Great work bud, that's how we learn new airgun project's, jump in and get after it.:) Ed

I agree with what Ed said on the contrast. Have you tried using any other method of stippling? I was thinking of making a mold out of fiberglass with the stippling pattern set into the mold and compressing it agains the wood...:) That would be allot of work. There has to be an easier way besides by using at Dremel and bit. I wonder how many people have actually done stippling on there stocks and what proceedures they use as well.

I've tried a couple of different methods and although it takes a while , the Dremel method seemed to be the best . Although I use the tiny ball bit that Dremel has . I tried the punches from Brownell's and didn't care for the result. Nice job !! kirby

Great results can be had by using an engraving tool (electric), the kind that just vibrates in and out. Use a sharp pointed bit and just go over the wood with it.
