I've already voted in the 'Retailers ratings' poll & I didn't know where else to put this so I put it here. Mods: move or delete if needed.
I ordered a sleeve (+2) of RWS Basics. They were delivered today. As I opened the box I noticed that it had been dropped on one of the corners. The packing was good, lots of bubble wrap & very little room to move around, but upon checking the contents I found three dented tins, one much more than the others. Surprisingly, the pellets all looked good, even in the heavily dented tin. No bent skirts, none crushed, etc.etc. I phoned Pyramyd to let them know that the shipping service had defeated their best efforts to pack securely. The nice lady in customer service offered to replace any damaged pellets but after the outstanding way i've always been treated by Pyramyd I had to admit that I couldn't find any damage other than the tins. She then told me that she would make a note on my order and if I did find any damage to call them.
I'm not a 'big buck buyer' but I get treated like one. Thumbs up for PyramydAir 8) .
Mike

Thumbs up for Pyramid. My previous order said 5-7 days shipping. It was on my step in 2 days.
It seems like it wasn't too many years ago when a majority of people and businesses  had good business ethics. What happened? Now a days, more then not service and quality is crap. Its embarrassing.

Can't say I feel the same. I ordered a "used scope" and pellets and got told I was backordered since they did not have the used scope in stock. That being said and done would have been no problem, but they added "please check our web site for our most up to date inventory" to which I pointed out that the scope was listed then, was listed at the time of this response (and indeed, is still listed now). I feel this is a pool the keep on hand to get rid of future returns.

In fact, I am glad that I did not get it, as the price for "used" is marked down very little, and is still a premium over new from the big box stores.
I came into this world with nothing, and I still have most of it left!

Re: PyramydAir ... and a 10% coupon code.

I 've spent a fair amount of $$ at PA.  Mostly a good place.  The one item I was shorted was shipped within hours of my notice though not overnight.  Doesn't look like they have packers check off items as they do their thing.

PA's packing has been a little less than adequate.  Worst was the RWS 34 Panther where the muzzle broke and crushed its way through the ridiculously inadequate factory box and almost made it out of the outer packing box before I got it.  I was amazed that the rifle had no damage for all that.  PA uses air pillow packing.  Doesn't work.  Every place I buy things from that uses them shouldn't.  Packages arrive with half the pillows deflated and items tumbling freely in the box.  This has been the case with every PA order that used them.  The one that didn't was a gun case that should have been placed in a protective plastic bag and arrived a bit grubby.

PA always seems to have a 10% coupon going.  If your order goes over the $150 "free shipping" threshhold, you might be ahead to try the coupon.  I saved $5 on the Panther this way, but another order was cheaper without the coupon.

Current coupon code:   "32Y3T34NZ5" good until May 30, 2009!

I've always gotten good service from Pyramid but on my last order FedEx has really dropped the ball.  I ordered 2 scopes on a Wed.  They shipped on Friday, arrived in Atlanta on Monday and won't be delivered til the following Monday.  I've never encountered this before with an order and I realize it's not Pyramid's fault, but a full week to wait for delivery when it's already in town.
On Pyramids website I left 4 messages on their contact page and never got a response til I sent an e-mail.

I've always had good service with PA for the most part. But this past Monday, I placed and order for some acces that were in stock, got a confirmation on Tuesday that they were ready for pick-up and fed-ex ( who I dis-like very much) didn't pick up until Thursday!!! Kind of a let down ya know. Oh well, I guess we're at the mercy of the supplier and carrier. tjk

I really don't fault PA except for their "Contact" page being a waste of effort, but FedEx is another story.  Ohio to NW Atlanta=3 days.  NW Atlanta to NE Atlanta=8 days.

I've had pretty good experiences with PA but lately they have either been way in over their heads or have just been slacking.  Shipping takes forever.  I ordered a bunch of pellets, it took them several days to process my order at which time they called me to let me know that one item was backordered.  I called them back to remove the item from my order and replace it with something else and they ASSURED me that everything was in stock.  I got a call a week later telling me that another item was backordered.  They again ASSURED me that everything else was in stock and that they would ship right away.  Didn't ship for 2 days.  After they ship, it takes a week to get to Northern California.  I hate waiting.  I ordered a few tins of pellets from Straight Shooters and had them in just a few days.  Still waiting for the PA order...
