Condor vs Talon SS
« on: November 20, 2008, 12:46:18 PM »
First off, as a new member I'll say hello, I'm always a little nrvous listing my first post in some place new. Post then duck and cover? Any way I'm about a heart beat away from spending some hard earned cash on either a AF Condor or a Talon SS. I think I have done most of the research I need to do but I always enjoy a little input from others. I'm leaning a little stronger toward the Condor but the Tallon SS obviously has some excellent features too.

Some of the questions I have been kicking around:

- Is the Condor with an 18" .177 barrel with a bloop tube nearly as quiet as a 12" barrel with a bloop tube?
- How many shots do you approx. get using a 20 oz Co2 tank with an 18" .177 barrel set on a low setting do you get from a Condor?
- Does the Mico-meter tank on the Condor set on low markly increase the number of shots per tank?
- Are "bloop tubes" precured from sources like AirHog normal adapted to use the AF bipod?
- Figuring plinking at 10 meters with a Condor using the best pellets thru a 18" barrel .17, a low setting, produce good accuracy?
- Why would you choose a Condor over a Talon SS or vice versa??

Thanks For The Input

Pete

For a 10 yard gun it might be more beneficial to look into more of a target gun. Lower fpe and more shots.

I hav the Condor in .22 with as u put it the Airhogs bloop tube.
The "tube" makes it as quiet as needed.
Had mine tweeked by Talontunes. New hammer, breech, tank top cap oring add "to quiet it down even more.
I have ALL acessories. Bipod works fine with tube. I even have a bright flashlight behind the bipod.
I have a swat hand grip (weaver mount) behind the flashlight and with just a squeeze will light up.
With the 10x40 scope I can read the bar code on a soup can at over 250 ft.
Can shoot a skoal can at 100 yds. Everytime once sighted in.
Before u get Airhogs tube check out Talontunes.com for his products.
I have never shot or even held a talon or talon ss but I wanted max power and the Condor has that over the talon from what I have read.
To this day I am still glad I got the Condor or the Talon.
At 100 ft I can hit the same hole as the shot befor. I use paint balls as targets at 125 to 150 ft. Love to watch them explode!
