RWS M36... Why don't they sell this model anymore?
« on: November 24, 2008, 02:22:03 PM »
Hello,
I have been lurking for a while and decided to join. Great site!!
I purchased a RWS M36 back in the early ninety's and just happened to look through a catalog recently, and noticed that they are not selling this model anymore. Anyone know why? Looks like the closest thing is the M34 and M350.
Thanks,
Phil

Diana is selling a lot of upgraded variation of the 34 now.  Maybe that has taken its place.  The 36 is nothing more than the 34 in a better stock.  So it the 38.  Diana did a lot of these series like the 24/25/26.  Used 36's come up for sale frequently.  The 38's are more rare.

Although the '36 used to come in a shorter-baarreled carbine version, which is a better balanced rifle.

Cool,

I don't know why they quit making them, but I sure would like to have another one. Can you imagine a model 36 in .20 cal.  People would be beating the doors down to get them. Good luck.

P.S.   How about some information from Peak Chick?

Phil, you can always buy a stock from Umarex and put it on a 34. Like Red said above. The only difference between the 34 and 36 is the stock.

Take a look at my 34 with a 36 stock. Of course I have done quite a few mods to her...:)
THE ONES I SLEEP WITH: BSA Lightning XL, AA TX-200, AA ProSport, BSA Ultra, HW-97K, Crosman NPSS .177, FX Cyclone, HW-30 Nicle Plated, AA-S200, Crosman Marauder, CZ-634, R-9 DG, Webley/Scott UK Tomahawk, Benji Kantana, Benji Marauder, Benji Discovery.....

I had a 38. I believe it came with a walnut stock.

Gene,

I believe the model 36 had the T01 trigger and the model 34 has the T05 trigger. I could be wrong because I didn't look at the rifles. If I could only have one rifle I would keep my model 36. Good luck...
